Gotta spread the word when you can, folks! I was wearing a Shania t-shirt, Cody was wearing a Shania t-shirt... we were in the Safeway store getting our groceries and the young man bagging our groceries says "Shaniiiiiiiiiia Twaaaaaain" You guys have the shiiiirts, the buttons, EVERYthing." I said "you bet we do." He noticed Code had a shirt on, too and said "it's a family thing!" I said "absolutely!" He said "she's HOT!" Right on, young man!!

At the fan convention they gave us a window sticker, the see-through plastic removable kind, of the STC. I have that on my car and have gotten several questions about the Centre. Of course we had bought one of these window sitckers before we knew that they were going to give us one - well actually two - Jack and I both got one. I don't mind that we had bought one - maybe it would make a good auction item for next year, eh?:)

I am wearing my Timmins sweatshirt right now!!! You would be surprised the questions I get from it here also!!! I would say that Shania Fans are definately putting Timmins, ON, on the map...I even wear the Lanyard that was given to me at the Shania Twain Center to work...It is such a beautiful Lanyard...I work at JITC Indian Head where there is a lot of Tech people...Shania is getting a lot of visibility with me!!!

People really love my T-shirt (the new one with a large picture of shania's face bending forward and wearing her red dress)...I get comments from people who say things like, "Wow she is beautiful, who is that" or "Wow I really like Shania Twains music too" It's kind of fun and a great ice breaker to start a conversation about Shania and her music and promote the STC.

Unfortunatly living this far north I only get a few weeks every year where the weather is warm and stable enough for my Convention T Shirt, I have worn it at sea, but small exposure with only 41 on board.

But I purchased two lovely longsleeved Jumpers, one is blue and has the Shania Twain Centre Timmins in big letter and the second one is black and has Timmins in the centre.

So far no one locally has passed comment, but I have not worn them in the local pub as yet.

Hello Tom

It takes a little longer to catch a few good Crusty Sailors like you and me!!! Keep goin Sailor!!! The local pub is always a good start...People will notice if they have not already but have not told you...I get a lot of that and someone will walk along and ask me a few weeks later where I got my Shania memorabilia!!! They are nearly always surprised at how far away it really is from Maryland!!! But Diehards like you and me are willing to go the distance for Shania with no sweat!!!

Oh Yes Sir, I normally take all my Shania DVD's with me as well as most of the vessels I sail on these days have a TV closed Circuit entertainment system and it is part of my job to look after it as an Electronics Technical Officer or ETO.

So guess what I use to 'test' out the DVD film player.... Wink wink... I gettcha them GOOD! Guess I will be adding Chicago to the list soon.

Bad new is for London Hyde Park crew, Brent has confirmed NO recording of the show exists.... What a darned pity everything has to revolve round the USA. Over 84,000 people were at Hyde Park that day and the weather was perfect, the video great and now we can not view it.

A PAL format DVD for region 2 would have sold in bucket loads, with close on 500 million consumers soon in the expanded EEC some marketing changes will have to be FORCED down the throats of the "good old Boys" that run Mercury!!!!!!

Hello Mercury, Europe calling remember us... little countries that make up the largest trading block in the World!!!!! Grrrrr

I wear my Timmins shirt *all* the time. In fact last week while I was in line at the cafeteria, the chef said "Timmins, eh?" LOL :p I said "Yeah! Have you been there?" He said "Yeah. Born and raised." I could tell he was being sarcastic so I was like "Yeah right. BUT, if you haven't been there, you should really go. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Not to mention there is a Shania Twain Centre, so that should be enough to make you go." He said "Umm, sure, yeah okay. " It was funny though because for the next 5 minutes we talked about Canada, Timmins, and of course Shania. Yeah, I was getting some pretty mean looks from the people in line since we were holding it up with our conversation. :D

I also wear my Timmins sweatshirt in the winter. I still have my "Canada, EH?!" sweatshirt too. People here think I'm Canadian. LOL On what I consider "Shania occassions" like her birthday, Eja's birthday, anniversary of when I met her (lol hehe), etc I always wear a Shania shirt. Gotta spread the word around about *the* best artist in the world, EH?! :D

A HYPER Shania fan,
Desiree

Hello Mercury, Europe calling remember us... little countries that make up the largest trading block in the World!!!!! Grrrrr

You and I share a common heritage of maintaining electonic gear onboard Ships...My calling was under the US Navy!!! I even did some repair work one time for a French Gunboat in Mauritius!!! Do You know where that is Tom???

Tom, did you ever get a copy of Shania's Platinum DVD. It has 21 of her stunning videos!!! I would highly recomend it!!! You can even use it to test your DVD player...I can't think of a better way to pass the time than to listen to Shania Twain!!! She has so much energy and her eyes and her smile you could easily get lost in!!!

You are right when you say that Europe is one of biggest trading blocks in the world and gaining more clout every day!!! They have a significant say in what music matters now a days!!! More country artists are now going overseas to try and market their talent but Shania Twain is still the best at that...She has also been at it a lot longer than all the other Country Artists here and has had the biggest impact overseas!!! If you look at all the news overseas you will observe that Shania is the preminent Country representative for North America!!! Now Shania is a Canadian Country Icon as well!!!

You have a misconception Tom!! Mercury records is the one that markets Shania's music here in the USA...Universal does also...But here it is primarily Mercury Records...Mercury records still supports Shania and even has a Web site devoted to her!!! It is the Nashville machine and music row to which you are referring to Tom....They are the Good Ole Boys!!! The Directors on the CMA boards is the Good Ole Boys plus those in league with them!!! I guess you could call them the dark side of Country Music Eh!!! Ha! Ha!
