Hi fellow fanatics,
First of all, I too get frustrated with the stupid remarks from fellow artists and people in general putting Shania down. That is the big reason I come here and see what you guys say. I steer away from the negativity, it makes me too mad.
But what I wanted to bring up was I think there is nothing much new with videos in general. We pretty much have seen it all.It was fine when it was new and I have all of Shania's,but I really haven't seen much to impress me anymore with anybody's videos for a long time. What do you think?
One last thing. A lot of people do not have cable, so never see these videos anyway. You know the ones that do not believe in wasting time with tv? Here in L.A. the only way you can hear any Shania with all the stations we have here, is on the two country stations we have and nobody I know listens to them. The other couple of "pop" stations only play From this Moment, and YSTO. So how Shania gets exposure out here is the specials and daily shows. It's up to the fans to fan the flames.
Sorry for the length. My first post. Rock on Shania!!!

HI!

Welcome to the board.

Well, I do agree videos in general there is really nothing new going on. They all seem to be going the raunchy route, with the exception of a few artists. Nothing like taking it into the gutter to get attention. Country Music videos seem to be stagnet as well. The guys just put half naked women in their videos. Check out Toby's new one for example.

I also think there have been some interesting videos on CMT: Shania's IGGG, which was totally different for country music, FAFA was another nice story video. Up!, was full of symbolism. The video Long Black Train is interesting, American Soldier by Toby was another good one.

I think some of Shania's videos we haven't seen like WYKM, TYB, and Ka-Ching are all top of the line videos.

I also think Music in general has gotten worse.

I think videos are here to stay and are in large part responsible for Shania's overwhelming success story. Good ones come and go and bad ones do the same...the good ones are remembered forever and the bad ones are forgotten and put in the trash heap of our memory banks.

Great point!!!!

Shania has used them to her advantage, since Radio doesn't like her that much.
