Millions Tune In to Shania Twain
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Some artists worry about what sort of reception they'll get, after taking time off, but Shania Twain (news) doesn't need to worry
spokeswoman for Country Music Television says more than 4 million people tuned in for the premiere weekend airings of CMT's program "Shania In London: Making the Video" and the 30-minute special Shania edition of "CMT Most Wanted Live."
CMT has more exclusive Twain programming coming up. She'll be featured on an episode of the program "CMT Inside Fame," which debuts on Nov. 15.
The publicity surrounding Twain also focus on the release of her first album in five years: "UP!", due in stores on Nov. 19.
So will Twain's new CD be more pop or country?
The answer is both. TV Guide reports Twain's upcoming release "UP!" will contain two discs, one with "twangy country versions" and the other "in a polished pop format."
Twain says she has such a wide fan base that she wants to please them all, and feels this is the best way to do it. It's amazing she had time to record songs twice.
Twain tells TV Guide that she makes all of her year-old son's food herself. Twain says Eja has never eaten packaged or processed food.
"He eats everything fresh," she says.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Football League has confirmed Twain will open the halftime show at the CFL's 90th Grey Cup on Nov. 24 in Edmonton, Alberta. To add to the Canadian country theme, newcomers Emerson Drive will headline the pre-game show. Twain will sing "I'm Gonna Getcha Good" and another song from her upcoming album.
