Excellent show. Shania received her first standing ovation at the start of the show. The show takes a lot of the video imagery and turns them into set pieces for the show.

She sang Quitter live :) it was awesome.

Getcha good opened the show with an opening movie which showed Shania riding a horse which transitioned into a motorcycle, the front of it looked like s horse head. The bike flies out on stage and Shania has landed in a sparkly version of the iggg outfit.

Songs like quitter, no one needs to know and boots as well as any man of mine use a western saloon, and town as their back drop and set, Shania decked out in jeans and pink boots, and pink cowgirl style top shows her country style. The video transition has Shania riding into town and walking into the saloon where she encounters herself dressed as a gunfighter dressed in black.

Shania also transforms the stage into a camp site in the woods, where she and Carrie sing rock this country, come on over and today is your day.

Shania shows her sexier side for That don't impress me much. The video intro for the song lets just say Shania know how to work a pair of eye glasses lol :p

She also performs still the one, from this moment, and I'm outta here. She wraps up the show with Man I feel like a woman.

The band was awesome! JD still uses his drum charts and since nothing explodes near him, he has ditched the goggles from Come On Over and Up! Tour and now wears glasses with lights on the side, it is a cool look for IGGG. You can get the same glasses at CVS for 25 dollars from what he told us at the after show party..lol

One of the touching moments of the show the band plays an awesome version of the TWIM melody as images of all her videos plays on the giant screen. It was an awesome look back at Shania's work.

You could tell Shania was nervous when the show started, but as the show went on, she got more comfortable and confident and her voice was even more powerful as the show went on. It was great to hear musicals re-interpretations of the classic Shania songs with some new but familiar arrangements.

Well that's all for now. Time to get some shut eye it's 3:30am here

Definately a must see show and I'm so glad I got to see the first show because there were some special moments in that show that may or may not be repeated like the initial standing ovation and her tearful show of emotion at times. I absoultely loved it and am so proud of her for being able to put it all together as she did. Likely without Carrie we might not have seen her sing live again from the sounds of it. Regardless, see the show if you can-I promis you won't regret it! I'd love to see it again tonight but unfortunately I have this 26.2 mile trek I have to do!! Doc

cbspock 12-02-2012 11:15 AM

Good luck today in the marathon Doc!!

I agree the first moment she walked out on stage and she received the standing ovation it was great to see and feel that.

The show is really worth coming to see. There are things for both the casual fan and the fans like us who know her story and her struggles over the past couple of years and it was nice to see she made it back.

Beautiful and heartwarming performance. I want to thank everyone from the STNAOFC for helping make this a memorable event. It was sooooooo much better being around friends and sharing in the experience rather than being alone and just watching the show. It really did make a big big difference. A special thanks goes out to FV for putting up with me. Love you all.

I made it home safely...the show was beyond amazing!!
I was wondering how Shania would do this live show because she always interacts with fans in her concerts. Vegas shows are not known for that and that is Shania's specialty. Vegas is also not known for fans rising to their feet during performances. I am in total agreement with Robin Leach's twitter comment of the show..." Shania's show sets new standards and everyone needs to kick it up a notch". Shania not only did Vegas style glitz and glamour theatrical show but she also kept her concert vibe, including fan interaction!! Fans were rising to their feet and security was asking them to sit down lol but in the end fans won out!!

I'm so happy I went to the first show because yes we got a chance to see her emotions and hear what this all means to her. From the standing ovation, to the loooong talk (loved, especially after losing my mother 2 yrs ago) about her mother and the campfire story, and then to the last ovation during MIFLAW.

Another highlight was meeting up with all of you and meeting other fans from around the world. I kept talking to everyone lol to get stories of how far they traveled...too cool!

Then the best highlight, while I didn't pay the extra $190 to go into SKC event I was able to stay outside waiting for my friends and in the process of doing so got to see and talked to Shania briefly as she was jogging to her next event. Me and 2 others were outside talking and here comes Shania with security, husband, entourage!! She acknowledged us with a friendly wave and warm smile...So of course i asked her if she tired and wants us to carry her..lol she laughs and said no I think I got it for now. We told her we enjoyed the show and she said Thank You and poof was gone!lol

Then after, I went inside and still got to talk to my friends and catch up and chat about the show...amazing time!!

Yep. I've grown to appreciate Carrie Ann more and more as the years rolled by. I hope somebody does something as good for her, as she has done for those who benefit from great music and entertainment.

Good luck on your marathon Bill. Got to be quite a sacrifice, to give up a 2nd viewing of the ST show, to pound along on 26 + miles of pavement. The runners high helps. And the good health keeps the constructive productivity going strong. I'm getting closer to 70 now, but I still like to do my 3 mile run 2 or 3 times a week.

Spock -- I almost didn't recognize you!

In your heart.. 12-02-2012 11:44 PM

wow looks all amazing !! I don't wanna read all details since I'm going there on Friday 13th :) This will be my first Shania concert, I'm so anxious! I have been trying to imagine that moment for the last 15 years, and I hope to not be so emotional and start crying haha
I'm travelling from Argentina, long trip but sure it's the dream of my life!! I hope to meet some fans there on 13 or 14th..yeah one show was not enough after so many years :)

Show #2 was better then 1. She was more relaxed the band and Shania just let everything hang out. She had a lot more fun tonight.

I have to say the fabulous falls 2.0 totally blows her original band away.

Show #2 was awesome everyone was more relaxed and Shania just let loose the audience stood from the middle of from this moment to the finale. Very un-Vegas like. :) it was very much Shania concert like :) she just upped the competition. Her fellow performers now need to step up. Shania loves to disrupt genres lol :)

I hope so too. They did one for Celine that I have, and it is very nice, so why not Shania at some point.

Good to know that. Wonder if there were others in the audience for the 2nd show, whom we knew were at 1st show, besides you and Richard.

cbspock 12-03-2012 07:03 PM

It would be cool if she recorded some of these updated versions of the classic songs. Most of them have different endings, and a completely different overall sound then they do on the albums, even from previous live shows. She does have a more soulful voice now, more like it used to be on Shania Twain, and The Woman In Me would be the closest comparison. Rock This Country done acoustically around the campfire was awesome!!!

Up! was closer to the Superbowl version than anything on the albums. Outta Here was not quite the dance version from Top of the Pops, but more with a rock than pop edge to it. The big finale Man I feel like a woman was completely over the top!! The rock intro the band does to it before the familiar opening riff was incredible along with the thunder, lightening and fire and light show that accompanied it.

From this moment's arrangement was closest to the solo version. It was so cool when Shania ends the song and descends into the stage under the "snow".

The intro into YSTO is a forest, then a forest fire with the black horse trapped, running through the flames, the fire is replaced with snow, the trees turn white, and so does the horse. The burning forest symbolizes renewal and Shania comes out on a white horse. She dismounts and starts to sing, the horse follows her around like a puppy dog. After YSTO, the stage transforms into a snow shower in the forest, and sheets on the stage floor act as snow drifts that Shania walks through.
