Winter Olympic Games 2006

Opening ceremonies begin Friday!!! Does anyone love to watch? I love to hear the stories of the athletes, they inspire me. I also love hearing my National Anthem, it always brings tears to my eyes. I actually cheer for all, because they trained so hard to get there but I do have to say, GO USA!!!:D

Ok I am bummed that Michelle Kwan had to drop out of competition. I was hoping she would finally get her gold, even though it was a long shot. At least she dropped out with enough time to get a replacement.

It seems that so much pressure is put on these athletes by the press, I feel sorry for them when they do not win.

I'm a big skating fan. I'm sorry Michelle won't be competing. She has proven once again she's a class act and the "First Lady" of figure skating.

The stage is now set for a showdown between Sasha and Irina.

Naturally, I'll root for the American but I am quite fond of Irina, too, and wish all of the skaters the best.

Faced with the loss of its biggest Winter Olympics star only two days into the Turin Games, NBC tried to keep Michelle Kwan _ in the broadcast booth.

Kwan turned down the job offer, saying she didn't want to be a distraction for the remaining members of the U.S. Olympic figure skating team, NBS Sports spokesman Michael McCarley said Sunday.

Michelle Kwan is a class act. The Olympics will not be the same now.

Did you see the pair skating program last night? The woman in the Chinese couple fell at the beginning of the long program, she really hurt herself, but decided to go on and the couple was able to skate rather well for the rest of the program..and they got second place..! :GL the woman got a standing ovation for remaining there and finishing the program..
