In memory of my mom

Hi everyone,

I know quite a few people are still around on the board who met my mom on a few occasions at different Shania events. I'm sad to announce that my mom passed away on Sunday, June 6, from an almost year-long battle with lung cancer. During her final two days, we talked about how much she enjoyed going to all the Shania concerts/events and how much she loved seeing me have fun with all of you. Her best-friend told me how my mom would tell her so many stories about the concerts and how she loved how that was our thing to do together. My mom would ask about you guys all the time, inquiring about the latest Shania event everyone was traveling to.

I wanted to thank you guys for making events like the grand opening of the Shania Centre so memorable and enjoyable for both me and my mom. They will always be some of my most treasured memories.

Take care everyone,
Desiree

OMG. I am so sorry to hear this news about your mom. You and your family are in my prayers.

Your mom was a real trooper for coming up to Timmins for the STC opening, and it was great to see you both again at Chicago Grant Park.

I am very sorry to hear the news....:( You were a lucky daughter to have such a wonderful mom: I have met her only a few times but it was clear to me that you had a great relationship with her and that the two of you were great friends. Treasure the memories of the two of you together. She will continue to be in your life even if you do not see her. She is in my prayers.

I am very sorry to hear of your mom's passing... I remember her very well during our time in Chicago.. What a day that was and one I will never forget. I remember thinking how important it was for her to be with you and share your day... Even though I only knew her for that one day, I could see she was a very beautiful and kind person..

MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY IN YOUR LOSS

Oh I'm so sorry Desiree!! Terry and I enjoyed your mom a lot at the STC Opening that year. I lost my mom over 3 years ago. I know how you feel. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Yes Desiree I am truly sorry to hear that and I do remember meeting your Mom there in Richardson, Va when we all attended a Shania Concert together. You have my deepest sympathies here. I also remember her when we were together at the Shania Twain Center as well. She will be sorely missed I am sure.

Benjamin HI! :)

Thank you everyone for the kind responses. I will definitely have to go to Shania's first concert back in the states since my mom said she wanted to go, no matter where it was in the country. Gotta start up that Shania fund again. :)

So sorry for your loss of your mother Desiree. She's at peace now.

I remember meeting her when I was up there for the opening of the STC.
Seems so long ago now. But there's some great memories.

My prayers are with you. Take care and God Bless!

My wife, family and I are so sorry to hear of your mom's passing Warrior. It's always been my belief that the best people die from cancer and I believe that is so they and their families have time to say goodbye. Sounds like you had that time with your mom and for that I'm thankful-love ya kiddo. Doc

Oh, Warrior, I am SO sorry! How blessed you are to have had her, and how blessed she was to have had you.
