Vancouver Concert - North Shore News - Shania delivers stellar night

Shania Delivers Stellar Night

- Shania Twain, Pacific Coliseum, Thursday, June 17.

No doubt about it Shania Twain connects with her audience. While singing on stage she signs posters, programs, clothing, arms, flags, hats, you name it. The amazing thing is that she never missed a beat as she moved around the large oval stage set up in the middle of Pacific Coliseum.

At one point two teens with matching bright orange T-shirts that said "We Love You Shania," were invited up on stage. They had travelled 1,300 kilometres on a 24-hour bus ride to get to the show from Prince Rupert. The girls towered over the diminutive singer. She had to look up while talking with them on stage, joking about her own tiny stature, like a sports reporter interviewing basketball players.

As for the music she performed beautifully throughout and her singing didn't seem to be affected by a bad cold.

She sang many of her hits and a couple of new ones not yet available on record. Oddly, many of the songs finish with a heavy-metal punch which is in contrast to the overall country pop flavour of her music.
