One thing I don't think was mentioned but which really struck me was her response to what her mother had done to get 8-year-old Eilleen to perform. Shania states unequivically that she would NEVER do that to her child (bring a child into a bar to perform). Then she ponders (on camera) what her mother's motivations were to do that to her. It seemed clear to me that this is something she has spent a lot of time thinking about and leaves us with several possible answers to the question.
