Lower Broadway, Twain take stage for TV concert this morning
ABC's Good Morning America launches a series of live concerts by female superstars this morning with a three-song set by Shania Twain from downtown Nashville.
GMA starts its show at 6 a.m. outdoors at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Broadway. Co-host Diane Sawyer is scheduled to interview Twain around 7, with the performance set for about 7:20 a.m.
Fans can watch live by walking into the area at public entrances at either Fourth and Broadway or Sixth and Broadway. If you're at home, you'll see everything on TV an hour later, because Channel 2 delays the show for an hour, as do most ABC affiliates in the Central time zone. The crew of News 2 This Morning will broadcast from their own stage across Broadway.
Those there in person will see Twain do a fourth song that's set to air tomorrow on GMA's weekend edition.
All downtown roads are set to reopen by noon today, Metro authorities said.
