Did you know the first time the "spin" transformation from Diana to Wonder Woman was introduced was on the TV Show, since then the comic books and animated JLA series have used it. In the old comics she changed by spinning the lasso around herself.

There were actually several more variations. The cover below is from her origin story in 1942 and shows her wearing star-spangled culottes. During the 70s there was the so-called "new Wonder Woman" who dressed like Emma Peel. This latest costume change will prove to be temporary as well. Look for the return of the original in a few months, certainly before any movie is produced.

There is some speculation in the media that WW's costume change is in anticipation of a new movie. Don't believe it. DC went that route before with Cathy Lee Crosby in 1974 and it didn't work. Only when they returned to the original concept and brought in Lynda Carter did they succeed. More likely, they would time the "Return of the Original Wonder Woman" in the comics to coincide with any movie. The movie, itself is far from certain. DC is somewhat wary of female super-heroes, having been burned by Supergirl and Catwoman, both flops. A lot depends on how successful thew new Green Lantern movie is. If it does well, look for Flash, Aquaman and Justice League. It's possible that Wonder Woman might appear in a Justice League movie before one of her own. It would give DC a chance to "pilot" their character before risking millions on her. She is well known so there would be no need to introduce her prior to the Justice League, as they need to do with slightly less iconic characters such as Green Lantern.

Here's a pic of Crosby as the "new" Wonder Woman in 1974. Also a photoshopped fake Megan Fox-WW poster that tricked some fans into believing a movie with Fox was upcoming. Fox will not likely get the role but the look is about what DC will want.

Well the problem is the lefties that run the studios want to seperate the superheros, from their American roots, so they can make money in Europe. Hence the total bastardization of GI JOE into an international force, instead of America's Elite Anti-Terrorism / Special Forces unit dedicated to fighting COBRA. (as of the 80s series).

Superman lost "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" in Superman Returns.
