My Ottawa Concert Experience

OK- this was the best concert of my life & I am still walking on clouds this AM!!

Before the show:
Waiting in the drizzle outside didn't seem to matter since we were so pumped up (although my daughter's Shania poster started to smudge so we had to fold it !) My poor husband & son were out in the rain for approx an hour trying to sell my extra 12th row floors & he settled for $200 for the pair( most scalpers out there were also selling below cost) They didn't check anyone at the door so you could pretty well bring in whatever you wanted! We visited my friends company box in section 100 before the show (excellent view I might add) We found our way to the floor to find our seats in 4th row at the side , dead center & only about 10 feet from the stage (the seats at the far ends have approx 10 feet before 1st row starts so we were really as close as some 1st row people) Got a chance to meet Roger & Bryce before the show & went looking for Steve & Kymm with no luck....

Opening Act:Emerson Drive
They came out around 7:35 so I had little time to walk around & chat. They only played for approx 20 minutes but were great. My husband pointed out that we had seen them at a Casino outside of Toronto for free 2 years ago & noted they would go somewhere. After the opening act I decided to go over to section C to try to find Kymm again & we literally got run over by the Emerson drive guys who glad handed us as they walked by & brushed against us ( **** I hated it ......lol) My daughter thought that was cool touching someone who may be really famous one day. My friend went searching on every level ( he did a mad dash at all levels searching for the tickets to get a chance to go on stage however he was told they were completely so out.....so find those guys selling tickets as soon as you get in!....they were wondering around the floor so they were not easy too find)

The show:
I was sitting in 4th row at the side with my daughter , a friend & his daughter while my husband & son were on the aisle in Section B to row 12. Well Shania brushed right against my son as she walked by for the opening (she came in from the far end between section B & C at the Corel Center floor) The 8 security guys around that entrance should have tipped us off that she would be coming out there! My husband was disappointed that he was not prepared to take her pic until she was just in front of them, but he did get a pretty good shot as she danced down the aisle on her way in.

Well I won't repeat the Hamilton song list but it was pretty much identical with a few changes around the middle-( am sure someone will have remembered the exact order & post it) Now the best part for us was that we had no seats behind us & lots of space to dance. The security guards allowed my daughter & friends daughter to dance & walk around the floor with no problems.

My daughter decided that she was going to get her autograph so she walked right up to her & had her sign her CD cover. She came back shaking with excitement but decided that was not enough so she spend the next few songs running back & forth so she could get another autograph for our fiends little girl- not only did she get another autograph ( more like a scribble!lol) she also touched Shania's hand as she was signing & came back shaking & looking at her hand in amazement that she had actually touched her. A couple of girls with VIP passed were standing behind us & I had to ask how they got the passes & they said they were good friends of Shania's- lucky girls! There were quite a few VIP people wandering around behind us & man would I have liked to join them backstage afterwards....but we had an autograph so we were pretty happy.

The round stage:
For those of you on the floor, I was worried about not seeing Shania when she was on the other side of the stage. OMG - I didn't even notice it! Whenever Shania was on the other side, either the fiddle players or 2 of her hot guitar players flirted, thrust their hips & smiled at us.....so Shania who???lol I really enjoyed the entertainment from the band when Shania was out of view so I didn't even notice if I couldn't see her. Shania definitely smiled directly at my friend & me & the one sexy guitar player with the curly dark hair was smiling directly at me all night.. ( **** that was so tough to handle....lol)

Well- Shania had on 4 outfits ( she wears the first one for approx half the show) but the entertainment overall was by far the best of my life!! I bought a beautiful Shania T-shirt (& yes, only the dates of the announced cities are on the back)

This is a day my daughter & I will never forget!!!

This morning I woke up to find a great Shania pic right in the center on the front page of the Ottawa Citizen with a great review.

I have still not come back down to earth.......tomorrow I am sure I will go into Shania withdrawal....

WOW!!!!

Great stuff!!!

It is such a crash the day after a Shania concert. Put on some DVDs to lessen the withdrawl symptoms.

Yes, that is a skirt.

I like how they exit the stage with Shania on their shoulders.
