Eugene Melnyk, the new billionnaire owner of the Ottawa Senators and the Corel Centre has dumped Ticketmaster in favour of a ticketing agency of his own creation. This will apply to concerts as well as Senators' games. Shania's concert is one of the last to be sold by TM.

The Ottawa Senators and Corel Centre are dumping U.S. giant Ticketmaster in a bid to get greater control -- and more revenues -- from the business of selling tickets.

Starting tomorrow CapitalTickets.ca will sell tickets to hockey games and to future Corel Centre shows following the Shania Twain and Matchbox Twenty concerts."

Melnyk is also providing a free Eagles concert for all season's ticket holders.

So, if ever Shania tours again, tickets for the Ottawa concert will have to be purchased from CapitalTickets while the rest are available from TM.

Personally, I am not a fan of Ticketmaster. They screwed me before...ugh!

Now that ticketmaster has announced they will be auctioning off tickets, this could be a good thing for Ottawa!

But damn. we all like to go see concerts in other cities as well!
