Why?
Just curious, why do you all think Shania has decided to stop touring? I know she has always considered herself more of a backup singer, but she seems like she enjoys connecting with fans when she tours. I wonder if it's the pressure, the anxiety, the time away from family required to tour, the strain it puts on her voice...

I think it is a combination of different things. She is turning 50, she started working very early in her life and can afford to enjoy an early retirement if she wants to.
Touring takes up a lot of time and effort: when you perform an entire show 3 to 4 times a week, it is exhausting. It requires a lot of planning and she really needs to make a profit to run the tour. Her level of confidence with dealing with fans has certainly improved, but I think at heart she would like to be Eileen more often...Eileen can write music and sing, without the need of an audience.... and now she has SKC to keep her busy.....

I understand that. But she has said multiple times that she enjoys touring-- being on stage, connecting, etc. I'm sure it's a ton of work. But even if she tours just every 3-4 years, it doesn't work out to be that much. I just think there is more to it. I certainly won't be surprised if she ends up touring again, even if in a more limited form.

Believe me when I say 50 is still young. I'm way past that. But when you start to get around that age, nature starts draining your battery, so to speak. When I was 30 I chopped 6 cords of wood, I built an addition onto my home, etc. I still do a few things around the house, but mostly I hire people to do things for me. You're right, it takes a lot to put on a tour and Shania has a relatively new marriage and a son who is reaching an age where she probably wants to be there for him to experience his activities as he grows up. I will take whatever she wants to give her fans.

We all know when Shania decides to do something she goes all in. Look what it took to put the Vegas show together. I can only imagine its worse to put a tour together. Shania wears a lot of hats so its not like someone arranges the tour and she just shows up. I can see where she just doesn't want to spend all that time setting up the tour then actually traveling, being away from home, etc. If she gets the performing bug she can always go back to Vegas, do a few dates etc. She said she has other things musically she wants to accomplish, and she can't really do that while on tour. I'll take whatever she wants to give us.

I think we will all take what she decides to give. We don't really have any other choice. Haha. I just think there is more behind her decision. I mean, I don't think time is really the issue. The time required to put together a tour and then tour for 3-4 months every 3-4 years--even for Shania--is not that significant.

I see Shania will play Nashville on this 2015 tour. It's going to be like old times!
