I really don't know if Justin's special will do all that great either. He isn't as popular as Shania, and doesn't have such a wide fanbase. Plus, his show got moved too. They just had a couple more days to advertise it than Shania's.

awesome performance

I loved this concert mainly because of I aint goin down Woww! what a song and Shania sounded great despite her allergies/cold whatever I didn't notice it . I llayghed at the part where she asked allison if she shaved and allison replied of course. Hope it is released as a combo cd/dvd with all extra bonus footage.

This is pretty funny. My prediction was right. Juston's special got much less viewers and ratings than Shania's and even Harry's special. I told you all how big Shania is. Even with all the screw ups and lack of promotion and having a horrible lead in like Queer Eye, Shania still gets over 9 million viewers. The writing is plain to see. NBC has been going down hill and Shania got caught in their slide but yet she still performs well. Thats why I said to relax, because her huge fan base will follow her everywhere.

Hopefully CMT will grab the special up. They did with Faith's.

I just got back from my Thanksgiving break, and I can FINALLY give my opinion! My stupid computer at home has a virus and I about died when I couldn't get online right away! Ok.......My favorite so far!!! I think her voice was amazing, much better than usual. Alison and Union Station were awesome. All I can say is.....Shania, when can we have an all rock covers album and an acoustic country album!!!???

Again about the ratings

NBC, which tied Fox for the week's lead in adults 18-34, enjoyed success with "Family" fare: The first family edition of "Fear Factor" on Monday delivered the show's best results since March, while Saturday's network preem of Nicolas Cage pic "Family Man" (4.0/12 in 18-49, 11.34m) dominated the evening with the net's best non-sports score on the night in three years.

While a Shania Twain concert spec performed admirably on Tuesday (3.5/9 in 18-49), both "Harry Connick Jr. at Christmas" on Thursday (2.6/8 in 18-49) and "Justin Timberlake Home in Memphis" on Friday fizzled (1.5/5).

Concert specials, a Thanksgiving staple, didn't fare as well this year.

Justin Timberlake's Memphis special, bumped from sweeps, averaged 3.7 million viewers Friday and was the week's lowest-rated show on any of the Big Four networks.

NBC specials featuring Shania Twain (9 million) and Harry Connick Jr. (6.8 million) did better.

Thanks to NBC playing ring around the schedule...lol They blew it, not the artists.

Shania still beat out the other music specials which enforces her position as the only one to call when a TV network needs a good concert special. But like Chris said - she should go back with CBS.

A cornucopia of holiday specials did mixed business. CBS dusted off the animated "Frosty the Snowman" and "Frosty Returns," which melted not only ABC's rival Friday comedy block but also NBC's "Justin Timberlake (news): Down Home in Memphis." NBC loaded up on concert specials for the week, also airing Thursday's "Harry for the Holidays" with Harry Connick (news) Jr. and Tuesday's "Shania Twain (news): Up! Close and Personal," which ranked Nos. 2 and 3 in their respective slots.

TV appearances abounded, including as backup band on a Shania Twain special on NBC last week in which the superstar performed acoustic versions of her songs.

"I'd heard she liked our music," Krauss said. "But it was a lot of learning for us to do. Those are very, very intricate records she makes with lots of parts and specific themes."

Twain's pop/rock, multilayered music translated to acoustic better than Krauss expected, especially one.

"I wouldn't have thought it, but 'I'm Gonna Getcha Good' really worked well," she said.
