So overall, I just finished watching the entire episode: MUCH better than what I expected...maybe I should be watching the show after all? LOL! I liked all the interpretations of the Shania songs....my favorite was NONTK, although it seems I disagree with the judges on this one....the only issue I have is that the contestants do not sing the entire song, how can you cast a vote if you do not hear the entire song?

Shania looked gorgeous as usual.. Nice tan too...She seems to really like this mentor experience in general, especially when the contestants are singing her songs....she was moved and connected....very good to see that....Carrie Ann next to her was a riot tonight..! It made me wonder whether she had gambled on any of the contestant..! It will be surprising to see who is voted off tomorrow..?

Excellent experience overall....I cannot wait for Shania to sing new songs in the future....she is ready, I am ready with my savings to follow her on tour, we are all ready to comment on new songs....it's coming..

Shania Twain brings out the best in 'Idol' singers
AP

By DERRIK J. LANG, AP Entertainment Writer Derrik J. Lang, Ap Entertainment Writer – 1 hr 23 mins ago

LOS ANGELES – Not so fast, Crystal Bowersox.

The other "American Idol" finalists rose to the occasion Tuesday during an evening of Shania Twain tunes on the Fox singing contest. After weeks of unabashed praise, the show's judges weren't so overwhelmed with the folksy rendition of "No One Needs To Know" from the usually captivating 24-year-old musician from Toledo, Ohio. They still kinda liked it though.

"It's kind of impossible for you not to be good," judge Kara DioGuardi said.

Aaron Kelly, the sheepish 17-year-old high school student from Sonestown, Pa., won back the judges with his booming take on mentor Twain's "You've Got a Way," which included changing the lyrics from "the way we make love" to "the way you show love." Simon Cowell said the passionate performance made Kelly seem like a "different artist" after weeks ho-hum endeavors.

"Tomorrow's gonna be real tough," Ellen DeGeneres declared after Kelly performed.

The other male singers also had no problem nailing Twain's tunes, including 24-year-old paint sales clerk Lee Dewyze of Mount Prospect, Ill., with an edgy "Still the One," 26-year-old personal trainer Michael Lynche of Queens, N.Y., with an emotional "It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing" and 27-year-old musician Casey James of Fort Worth, Texas, with a raw "Don't!"

"This could be a great thing in your wheelhouse," Randy Jackson informed James.

Siobhan Magnus closed the show by strutting across the stage and through the audience while crooning "Any Man of Mine." Jackson later told the 20-year-old glass-blower from Marstons Mills, Mass., that he loved everything about it. Magnus ended the upbeat performance with one of her signature howls, which Cowell decided sounded like Magnus was "giving birth up there."

Another finalist will get the boot Wednesday, leaving five singers in the competition.

'American Idol': The Top 6 tackle Shania Twain tunes. How'd they do?
by Michael Slezak

When it comes to American Idol, Shania Twain can seemingly do no wrong! Season 9′s most delightful guest judge returned to Fox’s ratings mammoth tonight in the form of mentor/songbook subject, and for the first time since season 8′s delectable Rat Pack Week, not a single contestant stunk up the joint. Can I get a yee-haw and a what-what? Okay, sorry…I won’t attempt to get in touch with my barely existent country roots again. But the good news is, the competition that’s sounded depressingly like “Crystal, Lee, & a Bunch of Half-Interested Also-Rans” may be turning into something of a horse race. Not to mention, if Ken Warwick & Co. get smart and try to reboot the Idol judges’ panel for season 10, they’ve already got a guaranteed winner in Ms. Twain. (Who else sees the value in hiring one Shania for the price of an Ellen and three Randys?)

And now for the bad news: As Ellen pointed out, Wednesday’s results show telecast is going to be a tough one, because it’s not like 97 percent of viewers are going to hear the name of the person whose journey came to an end, shrug their shoulders, and say, “Eh. I’d had it with that Andrew Garcia dood anyway.” If I had to guess, I think this week’s bottom three will consist of High School Student Aaron Kelly, Michael “Big Mike” Lynche, and either Casey James or maybe a MamaSox shocker (because too much backtalk makes speed-dialers’ fingers freeze).

Shania Twain night! The summary!
09:19 PM

American Idol split Shania Twain night along tempo lines Tuesday. All four men favored ballads, while both Crystal Bowersox and Siobhan Magnus picked faster tunes. The judges raved about Siobhan's glory-note-filled Any Man of Mine but were less impressed with Crystal's acoustic take on No One Needs to Know, which she directed to her boyfriend in the audience.

Casey James recovered from last week's bottom-three debacle with a radio-ready version of Twain's 2005 hit Don't! Lee DeWyze opened the show with You're Still the One, while Michael Lynche channeled Luther Vandross for It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing. Resident country singer Aaron Kelly got praise for You've Got a Way, which he dedicated to his mother, but sounded immature compared to the older singers. Wouldn't it be ironic if he's the one that Twain derails?

Here's how I rank them:

1. Casey James, Don't!
2. Michael Lynche, It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing
3. Crystal Bowersox, No One Needs to Know
4. Lee DeWyze, You're Still the One
5. Siobhan Magnus, Any Man of Mine
6. Aaron Kelly, You've Got a Way
