I have to say that i personally think this was the best show so far..... she was absolutely fantastic, full of energy, totally comfortable and her voice sounded stronger and the high notes were being reached with ease which is something she's struggled with at some of the other shows!!!

I can also say that i didn't sit down all night, and it was noticed by Shania as she waved and smiled which was nice...... Some of us have to show her that us Brits know how to have a good time, right?? ( i have to admit that i did get tired after a while, being 4 months pregnant and all, but who can sit down while she's singing???? )

You're welcome!!! No, she didn't sing SNJAPF at all..... it's weird that she sang it at the first 2 shows in Sheffield and Newcastle, and then hasn't done it since...... not a good move as it will be the new single and she needs to get it heard!!!

Shania's Presidential Display Appeals To Men And Women

With a pen in one hand and a microphone in the other Shania Twain satisfied grown men's hearts and young girl's autograph books at the Natinal Exhibition Centre last night.

Stopping every four or five songs to meet the crowd, deliver a few handshakes and kiss a few babies, this was no pop concert but the presidential elections a few months early.

That said, there were probably only a handful at the packed arena who must have thought "That Don't Impress Me Much".

Skinpy costumes and an over-inflated band wowed the crowd who toe-tapped and Tee-haa's their was through two dozen country songs, power ballads and rock anthems that make up the Canadian beauty's back catalogue.

And at 50 a ticket, it was good to see there was no expense spared as Twain pranced around a circular stage at the cantre of the arena with a nine piece outfit which included three dancing violinists.

This was over indulgence at its best. A 38-year-old married mulit millionairess acting like Justin and dressinglike Britney.

Twain aired tracks from her early country albums as well as belting out a few from her latest Up! record and the 34 million selling Come On Over. Launching she show was the cross dressing anthem Man! I Feel Like A WOman, the mostly female audience (I think) were then given something to shout about with further hits such as That Don't Impress Me Much and Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under.

Twain does tend to take the audience participation side of things a bit far, shaking hands and waving like a Big Brother contestant after being booted out and the cheeseometer went into overdrive when the bands were introduced.

However, Brad, Buck and the lads were clearly talented musicians, despite looking like the village people.

Neil Connor.

That's a pretty cheesy review.

I liked that one too Sarah...It reminds us all of how Shania would hold Eja in probably the same manner since he is also two years old...

Birmingham NEC concert 23/02/04

I saw Shania in concert for the first time ever at the NEC Arena in Birmingham, UK on 23rd February 2004. It was such an honour to have her play in the Midlands. I loved every minute of the show and rest assured I was on the floor the whole time dancing and joining in with her songs, as she asked the audience, "Is there a rule here that says everyone must stay seated?" (Personally, I have no idea why they wouldn't get up). Not that you need me to tell you how much of an incredible performer she is and how her band just blew everyone away, and it was cool that JD Blair wore and kept his Birmingham City soccer shirt. The band made a joke about not having enough tour buses and about BB's hair being so wild from sleeping on top of the roof or something like that.

I laughed at the comment Shania made about having to watch her waistline after she asked a man what he was drinking, which happened to be Carlsberg. I thought it was great how she interacted with the crowd and how the stage was set out, and the charity raffle was a fantastic idea. I only wish I could have got better tickets, which my sister booked for us, but at least I got to go and I didn't have that bad of a view. I would like to have got her autograph though, or go up on stage and give her a hug or even sing one of her songs with her. I am looking forward to seeing her in concert in the future, hopefully she'll return to Birmingham.

Great to have you on the board! What a wonderful concert experience you had. Thanks for sharing with us. It seems like it's been quite a while since we've had someone writing a concert experience. It feels good to revisit that!
