Hello to everyone,
first some words about me. My name is Andreas and I´m living in a small town in Germany. Meanwhile I´m 44 years old and my last english lesson is about...hmhmm... years ago, so please have patience with me. BTW, the dictionary I´m using is from ´67. Perhaps I should buy a newer one...
The main reason for this topic is an information, that might be interesting not only for the european Shanis fans. Several days ago I found the Platinum Collection and Specials DVD´s at amazon.de (release date is tomorrow) and today I discovered there a Live in Miami DVD!! version, also at amazon.uk, because it´s a UK version , that will be released in january next year. The Platinum Collection and Specials DVD´s I also found at the online store of another bigger reseller here in Germany. Perhaps it is similar in other european countries. So take a look.
And, hey, I think I didn´t mention it so far. Of course, I´m a Shania fan.

I'm from the UK, I can't watie to get my hands on the Live In Miami DVD (Even if I do have the Video already lol). Its out on the 14th of January right?

One question about the German DVDs are these Region 2 relases or are they US DVDs being relased in Germany for people with US DVD players?

Just noticed something about the Platinum Collection and Specials DVD's. No where on them does it say they are Region One DVD's. All my other DVD's specificaly state they are region one.

Is it possible for a DVD to not be region specific and thus playable on both Region one and Region two players? I remember a while back someone posting on Shania's official board that these two new DVD's weren't region coded. I don't know who they were so I can't say how reliable their info is.

If it is'nt region coded it will be good news for non North American fans without access to a multi region player (Like myself). If they do work on Europeon Players it will be time to call in a faovor from my Dads anut in Hamburg

you´re right, the Live in Miami DVD will be released on the 14th of January. The other new DVDs at amazon will be Region 1 releases, I suppose. I think it´s similar to the Live DVD, but that one is also available as UK import DVD. I really don´t understand why those region 1 DVD´s are not available at amazon.uk. OK, certainly there is an influence by the movie industry, but why not at amazon.de?
What do you mean by US DVD Players? Here in Germany it is possible to buy DVD players with no region restriction. It is here not totally illegal, I think because almost every dealer says OK, when asked for a region free player. You have to pay for it, of course. That´s surely illegal.
If you´re using a PC or Mac to watch your DVD´s, search the internet for solutions.

I´have just received the DVDs I ordered at jpc (I AM HAPPY ). As Bryce mentioned above, they are for all regions, but in PAL TV standard.
