Another great review from Sacramento

A bit late, but...

And here's Shania!
This was my first Shania Twain show, and it was thoroughly entertaining. Even though the Canadian superstar was sick, she sounded great, and put on a wonderful show. I'll definitely put out my money again next time she comes this way, as she does know how to entertain.

The stage was set up with a circular white curtain in the center.

If you saw the Dixie Chicks, you'll know the curtain I'm talking about, as they used a similar styled one in their show. After about 10-15 min intermission to get the stage set up for Shania's part of the show, the lights went down and the music to "Man, I Feel Like a Woman!" started playing, and you could see a shadow of someone behind the screen wearing a top hat and tails, similar to what Shania wore in the video for the song. Shania spoke, and the shadow moved, and I believe she said something like "Are you ready, Sacramento?" When the screen went up there was no one there, but Shania came on the stage from the side and she was wearing a Sacramento Kings jersey and black pants with zippers on them and white laceup boxing shoes.

From there she went into "Up!" and keeping on the upbeat songs, "Honey I'm Home" and then I believe "C'est la Vie" (I'm not as familiar with the non-single songs from Up!).

Keeping the upbeat tempo Shania urged those not out of their seats to "get off your butts and get up." From there she lead into "I'm Not In The Mood To Say No." (Not sure on the title, but I think it was that song.)

Later, Shania asked what we thought of her outfit, which as I mentioned was a Sacramento Kings jersey (Chris Webber's #4 on the shirt). Everyone roared their approval. She said she was having a bad hair day, and mentioned it had been a long time since her hair had been that long. She said that the only problem with wearing a tank top on stage with your hair loose is that when she sweats, her har sometimes gets stuck under her armpits.

A bit later Shania said that one person that bought a ticket to feed the hungry would be able to meet her on stage, and she picked the ticket out of the bucket and read the number. She said that the money raised would go to feed hungry kids in the local area.

After singing "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under" Shania had the band introduce themselves, and as they did, they would jump into the middle of the stage and disappear. After the last bandmember was done, the lights went down and then Shania rose on a chair in the center of the stage, having changed into a green and yellow tank top, singing "Forever and For Always." Smoke surrounded her as she rotated on the chair.

She sang a medley of some of her older songs, "When," "You Win My Love," "Come On Over," and "Holdin' Onto Love (To Save My Life.)" After this we got to meet the girl that won the raffle, and her dad came on the stage with her, to Shania's surprise. She had someone take a picture of the three of them and she signed the picture and the girl's shirt before she thanked them for their donation, and escorted them back off the stage.

The next song was performed from the audience. Shania was in a row of seats with just a guitar player and she sang "The Woman In Me (Needs The Man In You)".

Another audience moment came when Shania invited two young teen girls on stage with her. They had white t-shirts, one with the U with the face and one with the P and !, so that when they stood together it said "Up!" Shania kidded that they would need to make sure and stand in the right spots or it would say Pu. She had them sing something, and they chose "You're Still The One." Everyone gave them a big hand after that, and they were ushered off stage.

For "If You're Not In It For Love (I'm Outta Here.)" Shania had some young local drummers come up on stage to play on the song. After this song she again left the stage.

For the encore Shania sang "You're Still The One," having changed into an Away Kings jersey with the No. 1 on it and Shania on the back. She dedicated "Any Man Of Mine" to "all the guys," and closed the show with "Rock This Country" as the fireworks went off and purple and white confetti rained down on the audience.

All together, she played for about 2 hours and 10 minutes. The longest single show I've seen by any artist. What a great time! Shania may not be what you would call "country" but she puts her heart into her music. She loves her fans, and she's well worth the money to see, if you like her music. I'm sure glad I got to go.
