Prophet Five

In the season premiere episode, after learning that the man she has known as Michael Vaughn is under investigation and suspected of being a double agent, Sydney begins to question whether their business and personal relationship over the years had all been a lie. When she discovers that she's pregnant with Vaughn's baby, she becomes determined to uncover the truth about him. Meanwhile, because of Jack's past betrayal by Irina, he begins to worry that his daughter may suffer the same fate that he did.

This season, new agents will be introduced and a nefarious organization will come to light in Sydney's life as she fights to protect her unborn child -- all the while traveling incognito, outsmarting the bad guys and keeping the world safe.

i'm not going to judge yet. i'll have to see the season premiere to make up my mind. but i am super excited to see Season 5 because even with all the changes JJ has made over the last 4 seasons...i have liked all of them (except Lauren...but come on...who liked Lauren?), so why not be excited about season 5?

I thought it was too much like the X-Files Supersoldier thing, where Scully needed to go into hiding.

Everything at my home has been in a kind of turmoil the last couple of weeks due to my mother's hip operation. She is home now and doing fine, but needs a lot of errands run. Half the time, I don't even know what day it is. So, unfortunately I totally forgot it was on and missed the season premeire. We usually watch Joey and then the last half of Survivor from 8 to 9 on Thursday. It didn't even dawn on me to look at the TV Guide whcih I usually do. I'm sure they will repeat it sometime. Meanwhile, I'll just have to pick it up from the next episode. I meant to watch it, honestly!!

Vaughn died tonight. Final straw for me - after the big season finale car crash. All the characters are switched around, i can't remember why Sloane is in jail, why is his daughter in a coma? I forget.
Vaughn is killed in first episode of new season by a "ghost" investigation agent that somehow got into a secret CIA office without anyone knowing his credentials were fake.
I thought I was disappointed by the Rambaldi device, but killing off Vaughn means the show is over for me.
We've already lost one major character, Will, and losing one of the 3 most important characters will kill this show. Boo to Ben Affleck who can't handle his wife making out with her ex-boyfriend on set. Good luck, Vartan! We'll miss you!

I too am upset that Vaughn was killed. He was very much a part of the core relationship of Sydney and Vaughn.

I have heard though that JJ said that the Vaughn storyline is not what it seems. He also said to look out for clues in the first episode because there would be hints as to what is really happening..... Here are some that were posted at the Alias official site board:

here are some reasons i don't think vaughn is dead
1. All the characters were too unemotional. syd and jack and even marshall *vaughn's lunch buddy ha* weren't that sad or in tears.

2. jack said he would do whatever he could to help sydney and vaughn both. and we all know what jack's capable of. remember how he made it look like sloane was dead...

3. sydney gives vaughn that water to drink in the hospital bed and like two seconds later he flat lines...hmm...you get what im thinkin?

4. jj said to look for clues and that nothings seems like what it is and that vartan was still in it.

5. the song playing when vaughn died was sarah mclaughlan's 'dirty little secret'...you think the writers are playing with our minds??

6. the casket at the funeral was closed. vaughn wasn't all messed up or anything so there was no reason it couldn't have been opened...unless there was no body inside of it.

7. jack and dixon are talking on the phone and dixon said he has the passport to italy ready as soon as vaughn's stable, and jack says he gives his full authorization.

just some points to ponder people. i love alias and ill be watchin it for as long as its here. keep the faith, i have a good feeling about this season.

I have a feeling that Jack may have orchestrated the whole "flat-line" thing. He did make it look like Sloane had died in Season 3. I think Sydney and Jack are in on this together, and trying to track down the killers while Vaughn is in hiding/recovering from his wounds.

Michael Vartan, Jennifer Garner and JJ have all said that Vartan is still on the show. I think around the time Sydney has her baby, he'll pop back up again. Afterall, nobody truly ever dies on Alias. It still sucks though that we won't have any Sydney/Vaughn interaction for a while.

Thanks for filling me in on Vaughan. That does seem odd, i.e., that they would kill him off. I think I read somewhere, maybe TV Guide recently that Syd's sister was going to be killed off, or leave in some mannyer as well.

Yes, saw that. I am ashamed to admit that I missed the show again this week. We had to go out and I thought we would be back in plenty of time. So, I didn't tape it. We weren't, and. so, missed it. Not doing so well this year. One thing that irritates me is that they moved it too. I wished they had left it where it was.

i tivoed it becuase i had to work and since i worked all weekend too i haven't had a chance to watch it. but i will most certainly be wathcing it tonight. some of you guys may not like it anymore but i'm still interested in what's going on. maybe this episode will tell whether Renee is on syd's side or not. cause what was up with stealing hte body?!?! that moved....!!! and this is just a thought...but oculd it be rambaldi's body in there? cause didn't the dude that "killed" vaughn say "you wouldn't believe me if i told you" about who's body it was or something like that?

Rachel is an actress I mentioned here a while back. She is a local girl who went to Cony High School in our Capital city of Augusta which is about 10 miles North of us. She started as a model, has been in several movies. Then she went to the TV show "The Inside" and now to Alias. Here is a little bit of info on her:



Rachel Nichols Joins Alias

Just a few days ago, we reported that Jennifer Garner's pregnancy would be written into the show, along with a new character. That's some quick casting! Nichols will play Rachel Gibson, a technical analyst working for a black ops division of the CIA.

The former model recently starred in the TV drama "The Inside" as well as the remake of "The Amityville Horror" and "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd." Check out her IMDB.com entry for more information and photos.
