Some Winter pictures of Timmins for you all
Well Hello everyone. Remember Shania's first CD Cover of her and the Wolf and the deerskins and the moccasins she saw for the first time in many years on November the 2nd at the STC....
Well Chris and Sabrena took me on a little driving lesson on pure white roads to Kamiskotia Lake where Shania took the album cover shot in similar conditions to today (-16 deg C mid day)

Now this is a big lake and like most of the Area round Timmins few people are around to bother you. In fact I drove in the Centre of a 4 lane highway for most of the half hour drive out of town - west past Timmins Square and the new Wallmart Store which will be opened in January....
Chris was convinced the Ice would support his weight, and I wanted a photo of him falling in... so guess here we have it...

Despite the minus 16 deg Celsius frost at mid day it was quite warm out of the wind....

And the view from the dozens of cottages that surround the lake is simply stunning... No wonder Eilleen likes to escape here away from the glare of the Worlds press and us Fans....

Those who always drive to Timmins via highway 101 from the East through Porcupine and Schumacher will of missed this Sign, for Shania is at every route into town....

Aah getting "homesick" for Timmins yet?
Meanwhile Sabrina who is a very experienced winter driver, took a turn at the wheel of my new Ford Taurus and even though I am used to driving on Snow I was really suprised to see just how well my new Car handled on the wide back roads on light snow...

Now those who did the Gold mine tour last year or anytime since Fan Con 2 would have seen a column of Steam rising from the West of Timmins many miles away, and been told it was Tembec mills.
Chris said, do you want to go there and I said, Heck YES so here is the plant south west of the city centre. Please remember the City limits are way, way out there and this is actually a part of Timmins even though it is a half hour drive out from the Days Inn.

On our way back into town we stopped at the Ski Resort, not quite as big as the ones I am used to near where I used to live but very nice for all that as this series of photo's will show you...

I was looking forward to meeting the members in the Ski lodge but the season is still a week or so away due to the mild winter they are enjoying this year in town.... Just - 23 deg C tonight!

This was my first time driving outside the City limit but not for long as a couple of cool beers were waiting for me in Nikki's Sports Gallery....
Again a nice wooden sign which many would miss driving in from the east side of town...
