I would love for her to continue in her own genre - sort of a country, rock, pop blend. The inability to pigeon hole her with ease is what makes her so unique.

I think anyone who truly enjoys her music would stand behind her no matter what she might do, but we are used to her unusual couontry, rock, pop blend. I agree. I hope she stays with what she's done. It suits her and I love it.

I really not preseate, when country fans try to reclaim an exclusive ownerhip on Shania in every possibility. Being country for them is a lot of Shania in NA, especially the States, and the heck with the rest of us.

And before you try to complain about the deficit you had after COO, I strongly remind you, that it was Shania's choice to go international - and we welcomed her.

She went international with remixes, her albums were always country first. Seems the international fans get all paranoid for no reason when we want a country album. It's not code talk. I will come right and say she should dump europe if I thought she should. To us getting remixes is a bonus. Be happy with what you get. Getting all her international stuff is the icing on the cake.

If you remember from Up!, Austrailian fans wanted the GREEN disc because they couldn't get it. I'm still looking for the Austrailian Signature Edition of Come On Over.

It seems this time she will be working out of Canada. I bet the album launches around the world at the same time. I have a feeling the first press stuff will be in Canada, then the States, then Europe, and then Austrailia.

I agree. The only time I won't get a Shania album is if she decides to add RAP / URBAN, influences to her music since it is annoying, and it makes all the music sound exactly alike if you can call it music.

How much of her old sound will she decide to keep??? If she comes out with anything resembling a Mutt style album, that's all we are going to hear about. This next album will have to stand entirely on it's own, because she will want to show her success is hers.

I want something new, not a Mutt retread.

1. As you know, I like country, what I don't like is always this getting back to country - her roots her true fans - speeches.

Generally I don't like this 'true fans' talking. Every fan counts, except the obsessive/sick-minded ones.

2. Most importantly, what I really don't wanna see is Shania in any way becomes depending on Bashville, and the industry there. I want her stay as free spirited as now.
'Getting back to country' may cost too much to her artistically and musically. And this industry just would use her and throw her away, as they did/do with all the greats.

Well Shania has more rock roots than country ones. If anything she will become part of the country community in Canada, not Nashville. She will always be seen as an outsider there with some exceptions.

Shania has the $$$$$ so I think she can stay independent.

I really don't think she should work with Dan Huff (I think that is his name), he is the head of the clone factory.

I am so glad to hear from Shania...I am also glad she has heard our well wishing for her and that she is moving ahead now. A quote from Alexander Graham Bell “When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.” reminds me that we need to look for that open door. I think she is now seeing the open door now and we will as dedicated fans will wait as long as it takes for her to release whatever type of music she feels comfortable with. We support you Shania all the way!!!
Steph
P.S.
I feel bad I have not been keeping up with the posts lately. Been dealing with Kidney Stones and such. Right DOC?

A Personal Message From Shania
06.05.2008 To my beloved fans:

As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life. I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.

I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.

I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever.

Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart.

Love,
Shania

ok sweet Shania

Don't worry!

Take your time... we'll be waiting for you (all over the world).

hugs from Brazil,

Marco

Chris! I agree whole heartedly...But with one difference...I don't mind whatever flavor of music she wants to put out so long as it is her own...It can be country, rap, Pop, Jaz or whatever...So long as it is her own... But I have faith in Shania and her singular ability to give to her fans what they want to hear... Just gotta have faith... And I guess the both of us have that there since we have been fans of Shania for the longest time since I can remember...

I agree with Chris. I will buy any kind of music she does, except rap and the rest that he said, but it would be nice if she did stay with the music she has done in the past, except maybe with a different producer and she stays original!!!
