I am here a little early today. Our best friends are taking us to Portland today to a seafood place called Capn' Newicks. [Maybe FV has heard of it] You get to eat free on your birthday. Of course you have to show them your driver's license. I will probably have fried clams, one of my favs. Whole clams, not those strips they seem to serve in the Mid-West. I met a guy once from Ohio who didn't even know clams were more than strips. Anyway. officially it isn't until tonight at 9:45 p.m. est., but I thank everyone who has or will wish us a great day. If I get the chance I will look for a certain perfume.

Thanks Jen and everyone. I had a great clam dinner! That was the good news. The bad news was that it cost $18.99! It was a good thing because it was my B-day, I got $10 off, since I picked up the tab for all four of us. Perfume? No, didn't see any.

The gals went to do their usual for two hours, shopping. Us guys never made it out of Best Buy all that time. I mean when you've been married as long as we have, going to Victoria's Secrets to stand there while the Mrs. looks at undies is not all that exciting, believe me. Now looking at stereos, CDs, home theater systems, hey that's fun!!!

So, what did I buy? The only thing I bought was a CD by the Rolling Stones. It was their first one, "England's Newest Hitmakers - The R/S." I have it on vinyl, but have never gotten it on CD. I am trying very slowly to replace my vinyl, although realistically, I know that won't totally happen. This is my favorite album of the Stones. It was a time when they were still just an old rock/blues band. The songs include some we did in my band many eons ago like Route 66, I'm A King Bee, Carol, and one of our old crowd favorites, "Walking The Dog." So, that was it.

Now, I did see many things during my two hours at Best Buy. I spent a lot of time in the music section. They had some CDs I've never seen before. These were songs by a group called "The Goodtime Singers", at least I think that was their name. They do things like the top 1970's pop hits and so on. They also do country. I picked up one called "20 Country Hits". It had lots of songs we know by Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Terri Clark, etc., but it also had two Shania songs. One was Forever and For Always, and the other, believe it or not, was "Ka-Ching." I thoujght that was funny.

So, today I'm back to reality starting a new decade and needing to go out and mow the lawn soon. Thanks again everyone.
