I don't mean to bash the center, but I thought that anyone who signed there name ought to know this...

I found out last night from a reliable source that the wall of fans inside the Shania Center has been painted over. There were people from all over that signed there name on that cement wall. They had provided us permanent markers to sign our names, so it was expected for us to do so. Needless to say those of us that traveled up there are disappointed to hear this. Anyone who plans plan to go and sign there name don't count on your name to stay too long. It has only been two months since we signed our names and now they are all gone.

Actually, someone did say when we first went through the Centre on July 2 that the wall would be painted over. I can see why. We went only 2 days after the opening and I had great trouble finding a few square inches to write anything.

Well they were going to have to paint over the signatures some day. If they didn't, you wouldn't beable to make out anything cause there would be to many names and messages on the wall and it would look stupid! It'll get painted over all the time!
Maybe they took a picture of the wall before they painted over it!

Actually Will told us that when we were there. He did say that pictures would be taken and posted on the web before it was erased.

When I was there for the opening I was told that they would be doing this. There is only so much space on the wall. Even after the first weekend it was full and there was no more room for messages. That is why they are photgraphing it before the wipe it clean. Its likely been done several times since the Centre opened. If they didn't do this there would be no room for future visitors to sign.

And I don't think they are permanent markers. I beleive all they have to do is wash the wall.

So whatever you wrote on the wall is likely on film.

Really, our signatures on that wall are just like being a Shania fan in the world of Shania fans. As a single Shania fan you underly what is apparent on the top of it all. Our signatures were painted over but are still there underlying what everyone sees on top now. The facts are: we were the first, we served as a foundation for the future, and we did it to show Shania our eternal support and love. No matter how many layers of paint they put on that wall and no matter how many signature overlie ours as long as that wall stands-those facts remain! DOC

Well said Doc. I agree with what you said. I found out that the wall was a real mess, so it needed to be done. I guess it is one way for them to get us to go back too. Maybe some day Shania will annouce plans to be there to sign autograghs, and we would all go back for sure then.
