I never thought I would ever see that news here.
Where is the link to the PEOPLE story?

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Country singer Shania Twain and her husband have split, a rep for Shania told People.
“Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage,” spokesman Jason Owen said in a statement. “This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”
Shania, 42, and Robert, 59, married on December 28, 1993. They have a six-year-old son named Eja.
The couple is known for famously isolating themselves from the media at their home Switzerland in-between Shania’s infrequent press appearances for her albums. He is extremely private and the couple has hardly ever been photographed together.

Robert “Mutt” Lange is no longer still the one for Shania Twain.
The country/pop superstar and her music producer husband are splitting after 14 years of marriage, her rep confirms to OK!.
“Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage,” Jason Owen tells OK!. “This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”
The 42-year-old singer met Mutt, 59, when he was recruited to work on her album in the early 1990s. They married on December 28, 1993 and have a 6-year-old son, Eja D’Angelo.
At the beginning of their relationship, the couple weathered much flack and criticism because of their 17-year age difference while others felt Shania was using the red-hot producer to further her career. In response to their detractors, the two wrote “You’re Still the One,” which became Shania's biggest hit to date.

This is the result of the OK poll
Here's how the rest of the people have voted so far.
Are your surprised Shania and Mutt split?
Yes! They were together for so
long! 100.0%
No. Nothing lasts. 0.0%

Shania Twain and her husband are dunzo! They can be added to the very long list of celebrities that have divorced.

14 years and they couldn't make it work? Wow, there is really no hope for any of us out there.

I'm changing the title of the thread. The news is that they seperated, not divorced.

I'm glad you changed the title...I'm just really sad that this has become a thread at all! I don't mean that it was reported just that it had happened to the Lange's. Hopefully everything that takes place from this point is in a "friendly" mannor and effects Eja a little as possible.

and maybe they get back together if they can work this out. Hopefully they can get back to being each other's one as Shania used to say.

Shania Twain and Mutt Lange's Songs Will Endure
Shania Twain and "Mutt" Lange announced their separation today, and it's hard for me to imagine what the future holds for them, musically speaking. Their 14-year partnership led to enormous sales (at least 47 million albums in the U.S.), and they co-wrote nearly all of her biggest hits from 1995 to 2005. If you've been to a wedding in the last 10 years, you've probably heard at least one Shania Twain song, whether it's the romantic "From This Moment On" or "Forever and For Always" at the ceremony, or something perky like "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" or "Love Gets Me Every Time" at the reception. And who can celebrate an anniversary without "You're Still the One"?
Anything could happen to Shania's music at this point. She might take the separation as her cue to reinvent her sound, maybe something rootsy. Or she might forge ahead with her pop-country approach, since she's always sounded so comfortable in that arena. I don't know if the split was amicable, so their professional partnership might continue. No matter what happens, I'm always curious to hear what she's working on, because she's truly one of the most talented and ambitious country singers we've ever had. Even with this separation, their music will endure.

It will be even sadder if they can't work this out and she decides to retire.
