new pics of Shania playing basketball!
Singer Shania Twain (news) plays basketball while attending Kids Cafe, a national program of America's Second Harvest, one of the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charities, Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in Chicago. Twain is a supporter of ASH, a charity that provides after school meals, tutoring and mentoring to low-income students. I was thinking, it looks like a Peanuts characher.... LOL LOL
Of course she looks tiny, the gym is such a high room, and has giant windows etc...

That is so great!! I bet those kids were so excited to play basketball with Shania. It really shows you how sweet she is, she takes time out of her schedule to be with these kids. I'm envious of them!

Hey FV, I think Shania is trying to tell you something with the Peanuts shirt! In Joeleen's picture from Hyde Park Shania's hat says "ELLE", so she is trying to tell me something too!

Once again Shania has amazed me with her heart. She definitely knows how to lead by example! By the way.....I wonder if Shania made the basket????

This is a rare occurance too. Shania usually does not have the media around when she visits a charity or donates money to one. You can tell she isn't doing it for the attention, and that she really means what she says.

If a celebrity attracts media attention while doing charitable work some cynics will always think they are doing it to just look good. But the fact is that the attention is good for the charity and encourages more support from others. Many of Shania's fans have become supportes of Kid's Cafe precisely BECAUSE she brought it to our attention. Personally I think it's great to see celebrities using their position to promote good causes and will always award them the benfit of the doubt as to their motives. |

Actually Shania has had pictures taken when she visited charities. If you watch Intimate Portrait their are pictures taken of her and kids when she visited them. One where she was serving food and another when she was hugging some kids, they came from 1996 and 1998 or 1999. But anyway, Shania is very genuine when she talks about this, she is not just in the picture for herself. She has let many of us know about these charities all the time. In her concerts, tv specials, and articles. She really wants to help these kids!
