May 19: "CMT Insider" ACMA Wrap-up!

"CMT Insider" ACMA Wrap-up. From CMT.com: Host Katie Cook gives a wrap-up of the evening's top moments, talks to the big winners, and checks out the stars and clothes on the red carpet. Don't miss this week's show, coming to you from the Las Vegas strip. Shania will most likely be on the show - possibly interviewed! "CMT Insider" premieres Saturday, May 19 at 2:00pm

Well...they just showed a little clip it of Shania and in the interview she was saying she took a break from writing because she felt like she had nothing left to say at the moment. She is now back to writing again because she feels like there are topics now that she can write about in her songs. So far they haven't shown her anymore....I'll keep watching.

Well, that's not a good news..I mean the fact that she felt she had nothing to say anymore. But at least it explains why she's still writing and a new album will be released after 6 years.
But I'm glad she found new and unexplored topics to write about.
Let's hope she'll find lots of new things to write about.
It looks like we won't get "commercial fluff" after all

There you go again referring to Shania's music as 'commercial fluff', I don't think those sort of comments would impress Shania when she puts a tremendous amount of thought into her songwriting unlike many other artists who slap on any old songs just to get an album out and hope it does well. I know this new album will be really well crafted with Mutt's expertise, and it may be her best yet.

No, no, you misunderstood me...
Personally, I don't think there's a song of hers that can be called commercial fluff. Of course, there are deeper songs than others (especially in Up!) but all of them have a message.
But I know there are people here who think she wrote commercial fluff.

It just gets me mad when some fans refer to her music as being 'commercial fluff' although this is clearly not your (matteotempo) own opinion.

I agree. It isn't just Mutt though that makes a Shania album, a "Shania" album.

That's right. It's a two way thing. Besides which, her lyrics reflect her personality as she said at the GAC orange carpet, she writes songs that are true to herself as much as possible.

I'm right there with you. Well the fans that do, why are they fans then? That is the question. There are songs I don't like, but I'm not going to slam Shania in the process of saying that song wasn't so good, especially not using industry code words.

For example, the sound Juanita, sounds horrible on all 3 versions of Up! because of that horn Mutt put in there. When we heard it live in Chicago at Grant Park, no horn....song sounded better. Nah, is another song, where the blue one sounded the best imo. I'm not going to say Nah! I don't like it because it is "commercial fluff".

That is a really good question, it's like those fans that diss Shania because of how long she takes in between albums without understanding or appreciating Shania'a reasons for doing so. I love the song 'Jealous' - I believe this is one of her top 5. I'm surprised that one never came out as a single. Juanita was an okay song as was Nah!

If some fans consider her music to be "commercial flluff", why do they still buy it? I consider Shania's music to be commercial, yes, but not fluff.
