That's not what I mean. When Shania is asked what her music is in Europe, she always says pop.

Country is just as dead.

She isn't even done writing the album, and you are already down on it, how about letting her finish it first before judging.

I just putting together 1+1.

I am talking about my personal perspective. I don't like Mutt's 80-es through back syntetized guitar and drumm sound he gave to UP!. And as I see it, he's unable to do something stripped down, which is my prefaration. If the tone of the album is pop, its good to know from the start, that better if I lowering down my expectations for something different this time.

All I am saying is wait until you hear it before condemning it.

My tastes lean more towards pop than country. But as far as I am concerned, Shania can do anything from traditional country/bluegrass to pure pop and I will love it. There is something VERY special going on between Shania and Mutt and it comes through in whatever direction their music takes them. All of their collaborations have been great and I know I will not be disappointed with whatever comes next!!

This should be the quote we are looking at...

"The failure does not frighten me. I do not even think of it. This album, I do it for me. By love of the music. Not for glory."

What's wrong with pop? This is a shortened word for popular music and I would define her music as that. I agree with Cbspock's comments, let her finish it before judging it.

Nothing, but each and his/her taste.

I would like to hear something different from Shania (and more rock leaning).

But this:
Quote:
One works there. It is a long process. The tonality will be Pop. On the level of the writing, I keep the course. That of female subjects covered with depth and lightness.

is the same description one could describe COO and UP!

Same here. And a 15-minute epic.

At the end of the day I think we are going to end UP! with more of the same. I think there is always going to be a problem with pleasing her country and her pop-rock fans. I personally would like a stripped down country sounding album. She could release that in Europe and hope it sells on her name alone. I agree with Jud about UP! sounding abit dated, but Mutt may have a thing for that era. Even if Shania does release a pop album, I feel radio won't play it She should just go with her heart.

It seems as though fans are passing judgement on her new music before it's even finished. Shania came out with the 3 different versions (Red, Green, Blue) with Up! to satisfy her international fan-base. How many other artists have thought about doing that? Her and Mutt are very smart, they know that her fans aren't just country, rock or pop. I think her new music will get airplay, there's no reason why it shouldn't if the standard is high enough, which I'm sure it will be. She wouldn't put out anything that isn't. If I'm perfectly honest, I would have never listened to or bought a Shania album if she hadn't crossed over to another genre, as I just don't listen to Country.

I'm the same Amanda, i'd never bought a country album until Shania. I feel this splitting her music into two just confuses people, Shania should't have to be embarrased of her country roots.

I don't think she is. She recognizes that her fans like a lot of different styles, hence all the remixes.

Shania is very proud of her Country roots and that's what influenced her song-writing in her youth right up until the present date. I don't think having the different mixes confuses people, it's simply giving them more choice.
