Yeah right Sheri! LOL
Here's some info I filed with the Marathon committee re our effort in this race to raise money with thru the "Miles for Meals" club. Hope it sounded ok.
My name is Dr William Paronish. I am 50 Years old and I’ve been running marathons for 1 year. This will be the first time I’ve had the opportunity to run in the Country Music Marathon. I am privileged to be able represent the “Miles for Meals” running club in its inaugural charity race to raise money in support of “Kid’s Café”. Kid’s Café is a supported charity division of the America’s Second Harvest Network that works tirelessly to feed and support underprivileged children across America. Our running club has its roots in the charitable efforts of Shania Twain and her generous support of the Kid’s Cafe and America’s Second Harvest programs thru the years. Our goal is to emulate her goodness and work ethic in our training, our running/walking in fine events such as yours accross America and in our fund raising efforts for this wonderful cause. As of this time we’ve collected about $2500.00 in donations for our club's inaugural run in the Country Music Marathon, and the amount is still climbing. I am looking forward to being a part of the marathon and I am especially honored to represent the children who benefit from the kindness of Shania Twain and the tiredless work of the Kid’s Café program. “Miles for Meals, we’re runnin’ down the hunger. Come join the race!
NB- The "Come Join the Race!" part was added due to a stroke of genius by Spock! Pretty cool Chris! DOC

I did 3 shirts. A yellow one I will plan to run in with "DOC BILL" and doc 1 on both front and back. A white one with the same set UP! as a back UP!. The third shirt I did with doc 1 on front and a large version of doc 4 on the back which I plan to wear around Nashville. I loved them all but those two seemed to work best. I'd love at some point to come UP! with an official shirt for the club that we develope and gets voted on by folks here. I'd also love to get it on a technical running shirt and not cotton. Thanks for your invaluable help Spock! Bill

This trip to Nashville has been unbelievable. The history of this town blew me away. I've heard some great music down here and trust me some of it was on the street corners with artists sitting on a bucket playin an unplugged acoustic guitar and wailing out some awesome country. I got to see Rockie Lynne live at the Wild Horse saloon and last night Phil Vasser did the post marathon concert at the Gaylord Center-that was something special. This show was taped and will be shown on GAC Tuesday PM as part of the release of his Greatest Hits album. If you like Phil-watch this show-he was over the top. The show had the 3 finalists of the Nashville Star show and the all did 3 song-all were soooo good. Cowboy Troy performed the Phil came out and put on a high powered 2 hour show that highlights all his best song and his high energy talent. Even if your neutral on Phil-this show is worth watching-may even get to see Deb and I in the crowd! LOL. The marathon by the way kicked my butt! This was my 6th marathon and by far my hardest. I was in good shape but the hills wore me down. I felt better that there were alot of folks with bad times and even the winners times were slow. Regardless, I'm glad I did it, I'm proud to finish it, and even prouder that I raised over $3200.00 bucks for kids Cafe. Spock, you shirt designs got alot of attention! Maybe even recruited a few more runners for the "Miles for Meals" program! Well, gotta get packed to fly home today-alot of the pics will be on line from the marathon folks in a few days and I'll have some to post when I get home-DOC

Here's the post race thank you.
Miles for Meals
Runnin’ Down the Hunger in America. Join the Race!
The 2006 Country Music Marathon in Nashville is history and other than some sore muscles and a bruised pride (this was the hardest marathon I’ve run in yet!) I am very proud to announce that due to the kindness of all of you we were able to raise $3500.00 for Kid’s Café! That money will go a long way in helping to end childhood hunger in America. When you stop realize that even in 2006 one in every four people in a food line is a child you’ve gotta know how much your kindness will mean. America’s Second Harvest Network and the work it does thru Kid’s Café is truly invaluable in making the lives of so many unfortunate children so much better. Again, thank you so much for your kindness and support of the Miles for Meals running club’s effort to run down the hunger in America and I very much hope you will consider supporting our next effort in the fall.
Sincerely,
Doc Bill Paronish
