Q: November 4 will be the 10th anniversary of the biggest-selling country album of all time, Shania's Come On Over. This album not only sold a record 38 million copies all over the world but had 10 hit singles on it and made Shania an icon. Why hasn't Shania or her label done something to honor that accomplishment?

A: Kevin, Shania’s long absence from the music scene is a big mystery, and all we get from the label is that there’s nothing to report about Shania’s next album. So, it’s not so surprising that there is nothing being done to recognize the 10th anniversary of the release of Come On Over. If they had intended on doing so, we would’ve already been talking about it in country news and on country radio would be ready to support that. So, at this point, we don’t expect any special event regarding that Shania milestone.

Mercury is a joke. They didn't do anything for TWIM either. From the sound of it, country radio wants Shania material of some sort. I can think of a bunch of things they could do even with Shania not being involved.

Here are some ideas...

10th Anniversary special edition COO CD w/ DVD

Come On Over DVD-A (if they could get Mutt to remix for that format)

10th Anniversary special edition CD, with an extra CD of the remixes from the UK and Australia), they could call it "Come On Over from around the world".

They could even make a boxset of all her albums, with a special mini diamond award plaque inside.

Re-release a higher quality DVD of "Shania Live" remixed into 5.1 surround sound.

I could keep going.

I don't know why any of you had any expectations from Mercury. For a long time now they are acting like Shania is not on their label...

I wonder why cant they release a Shania Remix Album .... Ok I am going along with this thread and asking? Does her label even know anything about a new album? Does she know anything? and I think this whole new album conversation is getting out of hand... I just wish somewhere online is a concrete evidence there is on ein the works, I know I am trusting the words from her mouth and I read everything I read but the last question on my mind is this.. Why doesnt her label give a daam or something? I am just curious!

That's just so typical of Mercury. Still, it's no skin off Shania's nose. It would have been nice for her label to release a Deluxe Anniversary edition with remixes.
