A Merry (Timmins) Christmas to you all

As Winter places a firm Icy grip over the town, the City with a Heart of Gold, more examples (as if any more were required) of the many things that makes Shania's home town so very special.

A sense of Civic pride that lights up the City streets every year in an amazing display of movement and colour.

From the humble wooden shack similar to the house a 5 year old Eilleen Twain lived in on Bannerman to the Grand modern Brick walled villa's in the new end of town, the displays are the same.... Heart warming in the extreme... It is with great pleasure I share them with you all and thank you to Chris and Sabrina for there help in bringing these images to you all.

Enjoy:

It is so difficult to do justice with a simple photo the sheer scale of the decorations for they are not just lights outside buildings and homes but inside where ever you go, the Banks and Shops Taverns and Bistro's the sense of holiday pride is everywhere.

Even one of the Transit buses has every window hand painted by two girls who no doubt gave of there time freely....

It is as if the warmth of the householders are trying to project it's self into the street, it must look amazing from the Air as these are not isolated houses, often you will see two or three in a row with dazzleing displays, each trying to out do each other.

It does not matter about income, from the more modest wooden house downtown

To the newer upmarket Brick buildings the message to Shania's super fans from the people who winter in her home town is the very same....

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all where ever you live in this World of ours. See you all in 2005.

Timmins Tom.

OK Chris, Timmins4ever and I are visiting the STC tommorow AM and we will find out .

They host a lot of Christmas events in the Foyer including a Carol service so there will be a stage and not sure how this will effect the outcome, but I want to discuss something with Tracy off the net so any excuse to visit as you know is welcome.

Luc after viewing this thread commented "where is my house Tom?"

Oh dear this could be a time consuming thread.....

Oooh that will be so nice, I hope you post the picture here for us all to share. I just found out today I am joining the sister ship of the CV Ile de Sein sometime this month in Victoria BC. I will miss my new friends in Dunkerque a lot.

Yes I know how that feels, for the 2 months I was in France all I could think about was what I was missing back in Timmins, and that was without Shania saying Hello.

More pictures later tonight, this time of a very Christmas looking Shania Twain Centre and car park and that is a Tom Waller promise!!!

+ 1 deg C today, if only that would last as the snow is building day by day and night by night.

Well a picture is worth a thousand words or so I have been told. Those viewing who have yet to visit Shania's hometown are in for such a treat as I have never seen the Shania Twain Centre looking as good as it does right now. It remains open 7 days a week expect national holidays right through the winter and in fact just as I took these there was a big coach outside the center so I got this lot in before things got busy....

Thanks to the STC gang for letting me loose again with my box brownie.... and also the little Christmas gift I got given today...

That aside enjoy:

Oh and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS from these two who were hanging around - they say HI to you all and look forward to seeing you all at Fan Convention number 3 in August 2005 if not BEFORE!
