One of our grand daughters, Brenna who is 8, has the whole week off from middle school for Thanksgiving. So, she stayed overnight Sunday. Terry and I were trying to think of someplace to take her for dinner. Then we thought, we have a new Texas Roadhouse here in Augusta. Terry and I tried once before to get in, but it was going to be a long wait, so we left. Last night was different. We got in with no waiting even though the place was pretty busy for a Sunday night.
A hostess met us at the door and told us we could throw peanut shells on the floor....yee ha!!
Then she showed us some really nice steaks ready to grill. Then we were led to our booth. Country music was blaring. We heard everything from Johnny Cash's classic "Cry, Cry, Cry" to Dwight Yoakam's "A Crazy Little Thing Called Love" to Alabama, Gretchen Wilson, and oh yeah even one by that gal
Shania, I think it goes something like this......"Any Man of Mine better be proud of me even when I'm ugly he still better love me, and I can be late for a date that's fine, but he better be on time"...........
If you are not familiar with the Texas Roadhouse, the staff does a little line dancing every 20 minutes or so. They were really whooping it up when Gretchin was singing "All Jacked Up".
So, what did we eat?? Terry had a half rack of baby-back ribs. Brenna had Chicken Critters, and I had "Road Kill"
Okay, so as not to gross people out, Road Kill is a very tasty chopped steak with mushrooms, onions, mashed and gravy and a salad or one of a few other sides.
It was great. I didn't get a chance to visit the Willie Nelson Souvenier Store. Maybe next time? Call me a Texas Roadie. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
