I saw one other girl with a Shania Shirt on but she was going the other way at a turn around and because I saw her at the last second I didn't get a chance to say anything about it and she never did catch UP! with me. Please accept this donation of $4000.00 from the Miles for Meals Running Club, an amount equal to that collected in support of the club’s inaugural participation in The Country Music Marathon in Nashville on April 30th 2006. Please apply this entire donation to the Kid’s Café program’s national effort if you would be so kind.
The Miles for Meals running club has its roots in the charitable standards established by Shania Twain in her always generous support of the Kid’s Café and America’s Second Harvest Network programs. Our club’s goal is to emulate that goodness and work ethic in our training for, running/walking in, and fund raising efforts at running/walking events across this country in the hopes that our small commitment today will support a much greater purpose tomorrow. We realize that the dilemma of childhood hunger in America is vast and unacceptable and are striving to do our part to become at least a small part of the solution to that problem. This race is our organization’s first fund raising effort to date but we hope to have a long and productive relationship with your organization. We are honored to help represent the children of America who benefit most from the kindness of folks like Shania and from the tireless efforts of everyone in your fine organization. Thanks guys-things turned out real well. Actually people still want to donate and I suggested they "save it UP!" for the next run. The shirts did come out good I think-the pics I sent were to show off the shirt not my ugly mug! LOL I'm planning to do the Marine Corps Marathon in late Oct in DC. I'm not sure if I should do it for the Miles for Meals program or rather I should wait until the Disney Marathon in Jan 07. Don't want to hit the well too often! LOL Any of you thinking of doing a race for the club please look at Disney. This is not only very well run but it's gona be a blast! I'm gona do both the 1/2 marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday (they call it the "Goofy" for obvious reasons!-39.3 miles in 2 days) Point being, I will be doing both at a slower pace given the distance and would love to run with and finish with anyone who would like to do their first race. If you're interested check it out asap as this race closes UP! quickly because it's so popular. I did talk with Jodi Gibson from Second Harvest/Kid's cafe yesterday and she was elated over the money raised in Nashville-said it made an otherwise terrible day wonderful for her-LOL. She seems nice! I'm still very interested in better organizing and expanding the Miles for Meals club and as is obvious it brings forward a very effective fund raising mechanism for such a very good cause-and hell we have a nice shirt already! Think about it! Join the RACE! LOL I'm sure I won't be able to get anyone else to join until Shania does then I'll have to beat you all away with a stick!!! DOC

My Dad will be proud of you DOC if you do the Marine Run. He is a WWII Marine Vet and proud of it. They will be opening the new Marine Museum around that time in Quantico. Dad even paid the money to have my name, my brother's and all his grandkids on the wall in the building the way I understand it. So, good luck with that if you do it.

Well here's my Miles For Meals runnin' schedule for the next few months. It looks like I'll be doing this: Oct 29th-Marine Corps Marathon in DC, Nov 18th JFK 50 miler in Hagerstown, MD, and the Goofy Marathon as part of the Walt Disney World Marathon on Jan 6th and 7th 2007 (I will be running a 1/2 marathon on the 6th and a full marathon on the 7th). Anyone interested in doing any of these with me (except the 50 miler 'cause even I think thats NUTS!) please let me know. I'll definately be running the 1/2 marathon in Disney very slow as I'll have a full one to run the next day. Anyone who puts anything together themselves in support of the club let me know as I'll try to be there. Gotta beat that $4000.00 we made at Nashville! Join the Race! DOC
