I think the CMA's showed that they are lacking stars.....
The 18-year-old Swift passed on her new-artist torch to Lady Antebellum, a trio led by Charles Kelley, a guy who looks like 'N Sync's Lance Bass and sings like Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder. They've already surpassed Swift in terms of stagecraft but hardly pack the megastar potential needed in a genre that sorely needs its next Garth Brooks or Shania Twain.

Who needs a "new Shania", when the original showed she still has the power. Wait until she has new music, they all better just get out of the way. The second Shania decade is about to begin. This time it may not be dominated by diamond records, but a heart of gold.

I totally agree, and Kenny was funny too. I think he summed up what everyone was thinking.

Kenny is sure getting some play with his flirting with Shania.....

Kenny Chesney: I Flirted With Shania!
Country star Kenny Chesney knows a thing or two about hooking up and even more about breaking up in the spotlight, having met, married and split from actress Renιe Zellweger in less than nine months in 2005. So it's no surprise that he'd have some things to say to fellow country superstar Shania Twain to help her get over her break from ex-husband Mutt Lange.
"I flirted with her!" he joked at the Country Music Awards in Nashville on Wednesday night, where he was awarded the Entertainer of the Year award by Shania, making her first public appearance since splitting from Mutt in May.
In all seriousness, Kenny did have this to share about having your love life be the stuff headlines are made of: "Relationships are hard anyway for anybody but it's even tougher when your life is a spectator sport."
It's been a rough few months for Shania, who saw her marriage of 15 years crumble amid charges of infidelity with the couple's longtime personal assistant. "She's an amazing artist. She can do anything she wants to do," said Kenny. "Great songs are the key."
---
I think Kenny finally gets it.

The biggest surprise at the 42nd annual Country Music Association (CMA) awards Wednesday night at the Sommet Center didn't come in any of the categories, but instead was the appearance of someone who hadn't been seen around Music City in quite some time. Shania Twain got one of the night's biggest ovations as she came out to present the evening's biggest award, Entertainer of the Year, which went to Kenny Chesney for the fourth time

I just wonder if they always "got it" but just would not admit it because of mutt. I think that they did not support her because of their 'dislike' of mutt. I guess time will tell just how much they "get her". One thing is for sure tonight...they "get it" and she "got them"! It is great to see her with a real Shania smile again. You know I think her happy heart just may be returning! Shania YOU ROCK!!

Lange took her out off MusicCity.
Now they hope she"ll be more there and they can build on her popularity and all kind of other business.
But I pretty sure, Shania still will keep some distance. it's healty.

Too bad this standing ovation came like 10 years later, just because she's "down" now in life.
They definitelly need a mature female artist who can excite older audience, because they\re caught up too much in Highschool material.

I have just briefly skimmed through the photos and she looks fantastic! Very nice that she got the standing ovation too...
Her hair color is a bit too blond for my taste, but she still looks gorgeous....
Keep posting on the show, photos and vidcaps always welcomed! Thanks to all those who contributed already!!

Shania Twain Surprises Nashville at the CMAs
"I'm so glad she's here tonight," Martina McBride raves about the star, who received a standing ovation

The Country Music Association promised a major surprise in the lead up to Wednesday's CMA Awards and it came at the tail-end of the three-hour telecast: Shania Twain presented the final honor of the night entertainer of the year to Kenny Chesney.
"You look really good tonight!" he said as he took the trophy in his hands.
Twain, wearing a low-cut Missoni gown, had walked out to a standing ovation. "It's good to see all of you too," she told the crowd Wednesday at Nashville's Sommet Center. "I hope to be seeing a lot more of you."
Twain, 43, won the coveted entertainer of the year award in 1999, and was last at the CMA awards in 2004.
PEOPLE first reported that Twain was expected at the ceremony on Wednesday. Her presence marked the singer's first public appearance since announcing her separation from husband Robert "Mutt" Lange in May.
A Warm Welcome
Once Twain arrived at the ceremony, the stars were buzzing.
"Well, I hear she's single," Jimmy Wayne told PEOPLE. "Maybe I'll be able to run into her!"
Former tourmate John Michael Montgomery sent his best wishes to the singer, telling PEOPLE, "I just hate the fact that she went through her trials and tribulations, and I hope that she comes back as strong as ever. If she puts her mind to it, you ain't going to stop her."
New artist of the year nominee James Otto, who also toured with Twain, praised her crossover appeal. "She opened up country music to so many people who had never listened to it before," he told PEOPLE. "She really made a mark on country music."
Martina McBride summed up everybody's excitement, telling PEOPLE, "I'm so glad she's here tonight."
