It would be nice for her to come back to NA with a number one hit!

Something Positive
Here's a response I received from one of the local AC stations:
Hi Dave - thanks for your request. I'm discussing "Up" with our music director today as a matter of fact.
Take care and thanks for listening,

WNIC is on the first page list, if it is the same one. It is www.wnic.com
That is great news and since it is slowing down on the country side.

uh oh.... here's an email i got from chrisq102@hotmail.com , the guy who asked where i lived.
Good...! Must have sounded strange, but here's the deal: I get flooded with email requests for whatever the current single is from Shania; it's a campaign from her fanclub. Emailed requests come in from, literally, all over the world. It cripples my email account keeping me from getting to the real email from real Q102 listeners, and instead of playing the song I skip it for each of these "foreign" requests I receive. But knowing that you're legit, i'll be sure to get it on for you! have a great day!
LOL when you're requesting, make sure u know where the station is, so if they ask u where you're from, u know what to tell them.

I'm sure this happens to other artists too. I'll bet its the main reason most radio stations ignore requests. They know most are not coming from listeners. In my opinion requesting at a station you can't listen too does more harm than good.

Not too sure about that. Just because you have the ability to listen doesn't mean you are.
The DJ's and PD's know they are getting requests from people who aren't listeners. Clogging their e-mail may result in just ticking them off and making them not play the song.
If any PD or DJ wanted to take just a few minutes and check out the fans web sites, for any artist, they would see they are getting requests from people who aren't listening. You would only have to spend about 10 minutes here to find that out. We aren't even hiding the fact people here are requesting at stations they arenot listening to.
I really don't think you are doing Shania, or any artist, a favour by requesting at a station you are not listening to. But thats just my opinion.
You may find requests to your local radio station have better results. Bombarding radio stations all over the US doesn't seem to be working.

Well, if you are in a situation like me, we dont have a country station. I listen to WMZQ, on the net. So it is not wrong to request a song from them.
