Dallas anyone?
Anyone going to Dallas? I'm going to be there-leaving today to meet up with some good friends for a long weekend and the concert. I'll check in here and if anyone is going I 'll try to meet up with them at some point. Shania's THE reason to travel-can you think of a better one? Look out Texas-DOC's on his way! LOL

Just got back from the Dallas concert. Shania and the band were awesome. The friends that I went with and Deb and I had a blast. Two bad things-the American airlines center were a real PIA over cameras and confdiscated soo many. Got 3 of my disposables. I got my digital and one disposable in. I'll see how the pics came out. They said Shania's people said no cameras but I don't believe them. Also Shania didn't do an encore! I don't know why??? Catch ya when I get back to PA. DOC

Maybe she is still sick, and having problems with her voice? I wonder if she will take a break like Keith Urban and Alison Kraus had to.

did she sing all the songs like she did at the other concerts? Did she finish with RTC? If she did not finish with RTC...maybe she was sick?

Twain concert gets up-close feeling
By Jay Webb
Special to the Star-Telegram
Shania Twain tried to stay grounded in her performance at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Sunday. Her show included several personal moments with the audience.
DALLAS - No matter how famous or successful Shania Twain gets, you have to give her credit for trying to stay grounded. At her concert Sunday night at the American Airlines Center, she graciously shook hands and signed autographs for the fans who were lucky enough to get close to the country-pop princess.
Twain's show had several of these personal moments, including perching on the back of a seat in the audience (about halfway up in the first section) to sing Woman in Me, inviting the Coppell High School drum line on stage for (If You're Not in It for Love) I'm Outta Here, and taking a photo with a raffle-ticket winner who got to meet Twain on stage.
Gone were the glittery miniskirts and top-hat outfits of previous concerts. Instead, Twain emerged on stage in a Dallas Cowboys jersey, satin cargo pants and blue boxing boots. She still sparkled, though, courtesy of a giant rhinestone choker and bracelets.
Her nine-piece backing band was also dressed down to look more like rock 'n' roll fashion victims than a country band. Her fiddle player looked like a punk rocker in a sleeveless, ripped-up CBGB T-shirt.
The stage was set up as a concert in the round with various band members and props popping up in the middle of the stage. Twain sat on a stool and crooned the lovelorn ballad Forever and for Always while slowly spinning on a lazy-Susan-like riser.
Twain and her band pranced and shimmied around the stage, trying to make it look as natural as possible. It was obvious that most of the moves were choreographed because at least one band member was facing in each direction at all times. If Twain was on the far side of the stage, the audience could still get a good view courtesy of numerous screens suspended from the ceiling.
Older tunes such as Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under? and That Don't Impress Me Much went over with the crowd much better than the newer, poppier tracks from her latest CD, Up! On a few songs, including the new C'est la Vie, Twain's voice, which is rather thin in the first place, was drowned out in the muddy instrumentation. Thank You, Baby (for Makin' Someday Come So Soon) fared much better with its stripped-down sound and upbeat tempo.
A costume change into a garish yellow tank top with black pants and black leather boots tied up in yellow ribbons didn't really fit the song she sang to introduce it, From This Moment. But she belted it out with all the aplomb of an American Idol contestant on prom night. When she disappeared before the encore, the big question wasn't what she was going to sing next but, rather, would she pop up in the middle of the stage in another hideous outfit? Disappointingly, she was just wearing a Dallas Stars jersey to sing You're Still the One.

I don't care for the American Idol comparison.

The show ended at 9:45. There was no point where they went off stage to be brought back out by applause. She did end with RTC so I suppose it may just have been a format different than I'm used to. She neither looked or sang like she was sick. My friend got his Dallas hat signed X2 and got a high five from Shania-I thhink he's a new fan forever now! I got NAH signed. Lots of new tour stuff to me. A baseball jersy, a hockey jersey, new shirts including a Demin shirt, a poster, and others. I'll check out my pics when I get home-hope I got a few good ones. Bye. DOC
