Billy Currington discusses Shania calling him to do duet
BILLY CURRINGTON'S BACK-TO-BACK EURO-TRIPS TO RECORD DUET AND VIDEO WITH SHANIA
A few weeks back Billy Currington was advised that he was going to get an important phone call and they couldn't tell him who would be on the phone.
"It's an important person," they assured him, "so answer the phone."
"The next day the phone rang and I instantly recognized the sweet voice of Shania on the line," Currington said. Shania told him she and Mutt had found a song that they thought his voice would be perfect to sing on with her and would he be interested in coming to Switzerland to sing on it?
Of course, Currington said yes and he was soon on a plane to Geneva where he was met and taken to a studio near Geneva to record, "Party For Two." "I didn't get to go to their castle, or chateau I'd heard so much about," Billy said with mock disappointment.
"Mutt and Shania couldn't have been sweeter to me. We sang the song through 6 or 7 times, they said it was great...and I turned right back around and was back on a plane to the U.S."
Billy says within a few days he was back on a plane again, headed to London, this time for a two-day video shoot for "Party For Two." "We filmed 17 hours one day and 24 hours the next. And I tell you, Shania is so smart and really knows what she wants," Currington observed.

Shania and Mutt "found" the song??? Maybe they wrote it a while ago????
Shania is a workaholic, 24 hours
I have had work days like that and they are not fun.

Great story!! So much for the thoughts that Billy went to Shania's home. The line in the story about Shania and Mutt "found" a song that they thought he would sound good on kind of makes is sound like Shania did not write the song - but I'm sure that she did. Maybe it was "found" in her notebook and tapes of songs that she has written. WOW, what works day they put in on the video! Now if we knew just when we were going to get to see it!

Re: Billy Currington discusses Shania calling him to do duet
Seems like Billy was really impressed with Shania. I am glad that they actually got to sing it together in the studio, you can really tell the difference.

I think Bryan White said the same thing when Shania called him. Besides the lyrics are very Shania-ish.

Yes Chris
I would have to say decidedly Shanish, and Sweet Canadian twang that only she has...Her voice goes well with Billy Currington's rich deep voice...I have really noticed that...And I think that is the reason that Shania picked Billy...

I agree with Debbie! I wish we knew when we will see the video! I haven't even heard the song on the radio yet! I work all day and never get the chance to listen to the radio until the weekend, but I did email a local country channel and he thanked me for listening and will be playing the song soon!!

Aw, Billy just should have slept on Shania's couch or something.

Yes, Shania made a smart decision choosing Billy, I think he has a better voice than Bryan, or at least that's what I think.

Shania Twain made a good choice siding with Billy he has a deep rich voice which goes well with Shania's Canadian Twang..

So..... it would appear Shania did not have to be quite so persuasive as she did at the start of the song
