Baby Lange Donation! Final Amount: US $1,500!
The
Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club has decided to make a donation
to celebrate the future birth of Shania's first child: The Baby Lange
Donation! As a Fan Club we will be donating equally to two charities:
one in Canada and one in the US. The Canadian organization is : Timmins
Hospital in Timmins, Ontario, Shania's Hometown, and was voted by the members
with 63% of the votes received. The American organization voted by the
Fan Club members is America's Second Harvest/Kids Cafe with 60% of
the votes.
The
amount of the donation will be determined by donations from Shania fans
and by special auctions organized by the Fan Club on this site as well
as on Ebay. We will start collecting the donations and the bidding on the
auctions on August 4 and we will continue until August 31.
HOW TO DONATE?
1) Donations: Please EQUALLY split the
amount of your donation.
-The first half of your donation amount should
be paid by using an INTERNATIONAL POSTAL MONEY ORDER that can be purchased
for a fee of $3.25 at all major post offices in the US (call 1-800-725-2161
in case you need to find the closest branch to you). This type of money
order is issued in US dollars but can be cashed for the equivalent amount
in Canadian dollars in any post office in Canada. Make the international
post money order payable to: "Timmins and District Hospital Foundation."
-The second half of your donation amount can be paid with any type of US domestic money order (postal, Western Union, any bank one). Write the money order payable to: "America's Second Harvest."

Presentation Ceremony: Shania Twain Centre, Nov. 22!
On Thursday November
22, at 10.30 am at the Shania Twain Centre, the Timmins Hospital held a
special Check Presentation ceremony to thank the Shania Twain North American
Online Fan Club for the Baby Lange Donation in the amount of CAN $1,100
this past September. Two Timmins members of the Fan Club represented all
the Shania Fans who have contributed to this fundraiser to help the Paediatric
Department of the Timmins Hospital. In the photo here below, you can see
Mr. Will Saari (first one on the left) and Ms. Faye Naveau with her daughter
(on the left) representing the Fan Club at the Check Ceremony with Mr.
Robert Perrault, Timmins Hospital Foundation Chairperson. The Fan Club
also made the 6 pm News that same day on the MCTV channel! Thanks Corinna!

The Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club Makes a Donation to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation
Timmins Thursday, November 22, 2001 - Today, Faye Naveau and Will Saari, representing the Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club (www.shaniafans.com) presented the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation with a generous donation of $1,136.00. Accepting the donation was Robert Perrault, Chairperson of the Foundation. The generous donation will be used to purchase urgently needed medical equipment that will be used by either children or adults.
As a celebration of the birth of Shania's first child, the Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club voted to donate equally to two charities, one in Canada and one in the US. The Canadian recipient of this generous ‘Baby Lange Donation’ (receiving 63% of the votes) is the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation in Timmins, Ontario, Shania's hometown. The American organization, voted by the Fan Club members (receiving 60% of the votes) is America's Second Harvest/Kids Café. The amount of the donation was determined by donations from Shania fans located in the United States, Italy, France, and Canada and by special auctions organized by the Fan Club on their web site as well as on Ebay.
The Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club would like thank Mercury Nashville for their donation of five Shania autographed calendars that were included in the auction packages.
