Station Weight =
AQH Persons + (Market Rank times 10), divided by 4570 (KZLA’s AQH divided by 10).

All AQH results from Fall 2003 ratings period.
R&R will update the weights once the Spring 2004 results have been released.

AQH: This term is an acronym for "average quarter hour," and identifies
another type of radio audience statistic. Most radio ratings services
divide each broadcast hour into four quarter-hours (15-minute segments)
for measuring purposes. For each quarter- hour, within every hour of
every day, an audience sample is taken. Any listener who tunes into a
given radio channel for a minimum of five (5) minutes during a
quarter-hour segment, is counted in the AQH statistic for that
quarter-hour.

Listeners are counted for any and every quarter-hour in which they
participate. For example, if an person listens for 30 minutes, (s)he
will be counted in the AQH for the first quarter-hour, and then again in
the AQH for the following quarter-hour.

The "Average Quarter Hour" statistic is calculated by averaging all the
quarter-hours in a given daypart. For example, if Morning Drive is from
6:00am to 9:00am, there are three hours involved (making a total of 12
quarter-hours). The number of listeners counted in each of those 12
quarter-hours are added together and divided by 12 to come up with an
average number of listeners in Morning Drive quarter-hours. This is the
AQH statistic. It represents the average number of persons listening to
a given station at any given moment in time, within a given daypart.

http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/aktion/action-smiley-057.gif I am using 3 email address' but think that some stations still may recognise those that appear regularly... are requests just just counted by computers on the track/artist or do you think they actualy somehow would be able to note the address'. im just a lil worried that they may discount some of the requests on the basis they know that it is a push for chart positions :(

But will keep ploughing them out none the less :D

Just to let you all know ... the KZLA Maganificent 7 @ 7 voting site is down. Great way for them to really pick the #1 song - the one they want and that won't be Shania!. Now the only way to 'vote' is either by calling 1-800-977-1939 or emailing in for the Top Twenty Countdown.

I was wondering the email question, too. I'm worried that these radio stations are just not paying attention to the same people who email them daily. I use three emials also but I wonder if they have a way to recognise them? Oh well, back to voting.:)

I wanted to post something here and in two other forums:

Monday-Sent in Request
Wednesday- Shows on Chart

If you send in a request on Monday to the morning show, they get it on Tuesday and play it. That play won't show up until Wednesday. So, if you are doubling your requests or requesting more often and the results on showing, this is why. Don't give up!

The real problem is Gretchen Wilson's new song. It is gaining 400-500 plays a day and that is taking away from Shania. Radio can only fit so many plays per day and they try and split those 70% to 30% between male and female artist. Gretchen is Hot, Shania is not in the eyes of the Program Directors.

jen

I think Gretchen's new song is so boring and the video is even worse....to bad program directors don't care what we think!

Not just Wilson's song, there are other industry favorites out with new singles, like Clark, and Womack (less favorite lately though) and Reba, and Evans.

As far as Shania is concerned, country radio will play her as much as they need for her starpower and numbers, but as less as they can under those circumtances.

Improvement at many stations. Again, focus the energy here, but don't forget about the small/medium market stations. One thing that the charts are based on is market weight. PFT is doing poorly among Top 25. Let's change that.

Help Stations- These stations have not supported "Party" ever since the release. For consecutive weeks, the song has not been Top 30. That has to change.

*** Great Improvement Stations- These stations have gone from "Not In Top 30" to increasing plays over the last few weeks.

The problem has been and continues to be at large markets. Country radio appears to be late in catching on with this single. That's a bad thing for the next single.

Another problem I think is that most fans think "Well hey, it got to #11, the album's out, I'm happy" and they quit requesting. A shot out to all those living anywhere near (within 100 miles) these stations: Request once a day to the station. Afternoon and evening slots get the most listeners. Aim for those times.

I know this single can go higher. Rimes will pass soon, her audience is already higher and so is her bullet. C'mon guys! Let's show radio that WE AINT NO QUITTERS!!!

the L.A. area is terrible when it comes to hearing shania on the radio. kzla is so frustrating because it does not even have Shania listed at all in their choice of requests. I can not stand to listen to that station. but i keep requesting. shania really has made it without the dang radio doing their job. politics???
