From Shania.com

These are the FINAL DAYS for fans to support this single at country! This is her second/last single off her "Greatest Hits" CD to any non-country format. Please REQUEST Shania's "Don't!" single (and video) at country stations... NEW #1 PRIORITY! Start REQUESTS for Shania's "Don't!" at AC & Hot AC formats (USA). After one week at AC, "Don't!" is not charting yet but has been added at 40 stations, +129 spins, #2 among all singles. However audience remains miniscule, with most initial spins still overnight. We need requests from more fans, plays in larger markets, and her deplorable label to show some dedication to her music. Large metro area radio Request Links plus Shania's top "Don't!" stations. "Don't!" is easily the best new song on her "Greatest Hits" CD. Please continue to support this amazing single and gorgeous video about a truly important theme. This is a brilliant song featuring one of Shania's best vocals ever. Fans need to drive "Don't!" to #1 at AC to help her album, and also to embarrass the country format and wretched label. Fans ought to be offended by the bigoted faction of country radio that refused to ever play this single and the disloyal hacks at her Nashville label that continue to buy/ask/tell radio to play songs by other acts they want to promote (most acts bleeding money with every failed album on their way out the door)......"I Ain't No Quitter" will be released to country only, currently a format that doesn't deserve her music or class.

---

I can't say I don't disagree with him this time.

I hope Shania's sales jump back up to the 30K range this coming week...last week's numbers (21K) were way too close to falling out of the top 40. I had hoped that the GH would be able to stay in the top 40 until the end of the year...that would be great...it could happen...If the "Quitter" single performs well and stays on the charts for the next 3-4 monthes or so we might can hold out until the Holiday Boost kicks in...:BL

Kenny will never have the stage presence or the charisma Shania has...that is why her shows are so fun/good/and exciting!!

I am sure there are going to be some rockin' remixes of Quitter too. :D

I think it can go up a bit, but to 30k is just seems to me a bit too much.

And I hope there will be remixes of Quitter - and even more, it will released as a single after-all in Europe. I

In the States it sure they will be up for I-tunes (if they are existing) and such, but one can't buy there from abroad.

I don't mean in one week...that would be Shania's biggest jump in week's, but I hope it levels out how Gretchen's "Here for the Party" is. It is still selling very well with around 30K...although Country Radio is sure pushing it...

I think if "Quitter" could get into and stay in the top 10 for 5+ weeks, we could see a significant jump in sales. I there are a lot of country music fans who refused to by Shania's GH because 'it's too pop.' Maybe if they heard "Quitter" that could change their minds and they would think, "hey maybe it is worth it." You never know;)

BTW, I know that the GH is not selling as well as other albums like Gretchen's and Kenny's but you have to remember that Shania is not on tour right now like Gretchen and Kenny, Shania hasn't really promoted a lot, Shania's album is a GH which means that the fans that already have these songs will probably just download PFT, Don't, and Quitter legally. For a GH album, I think this is doing superb...

I did not said the GH doesn't sell well, just said, right now from 21k to get 30k is not realistic.
As for the GH being too pop? Its a GH, not a studio album, people should by it, because it's a summary of a career or a part of it. It has nothing to do with being country or not.
But I always forget how close-minded country audience is. The same people, who perhaps running to by Chesney's and McGraw's "very traditionalist" albums...

Unfortunatelly, "Quitter" will change nothing.

Oh, I hold no illusions that Quitter is going to be embraced by Country Radio. It will be ignored. The way Music Row has been going, they are trying to ignore Shania. They only need her for ratings.

They are still hunting for a female superstar, and they have had one for years.

You aught to know by now that country is fickle, when it comes to women...

Please continue to support this amazing single and gorgeous video about a truly important theme, featuring one of Shania's best vocals ever. Please help drive "Don't!" to #1 at AC to expose it to a new audience and help her "Hits" album. IANQ can't be released to any other format outside country. That's why country's unwarranted reponse to "Don't! is so harmful. "Don't!" should have been another country smash for 4-5 more months. But a bigoted faction of country radio that refused to ever play it and disloyal hacks at her label collectively killed it, which will leave a huge unplanned gap of time before Shania's next album is ready. This same label continues to buy/ask/tell radio to play songs by other acts they want to promote (most bleeding money with every failed album on their way out the door). Too many music buyers remain unaware of Shania's new "Hits" CD due to lack of label and radio support.

What's your opinion? Is this good or bad?

I think it is good because it is almost a top 20 song. I just think that stations are taking their time adding it, so we need more of that to happen. However, in general I think the AC charts go slower than most so it is probably going at a normal pace.

Anyways thats my opinion, I am sure Jud has more experience in the charts and will enlighten us.

I think Jen is correct the AC stations seem to go much slower then most of the charts however they continue to play the songs longer so that is good!
