Gh Sales Stats!

Hi Shania fans,

I decided to post some stats of the GH now that it's sales in the US have exceded 2.95 million.

Here are sales by year and month. Note-The sales numbers are compiled using Billboard's chart dates. The chart dates are a week and a half ahead of the actual calander dates:

2004: 1,580,000
2005: 1,345,708

By month (using Billboard's Chart Dates):

November, 04: 0,531,100
December, 04: 1,048,900
January, 05: 0,898,500
Febuary, 05: 0,196,600
March, 05: 0,145,212
April, 05: 0,105,396



Using Soundscan's dates and years (runs equal to the calander year):

2004: 2,237,900
2005: 0,687,808



If Shania continues to sell around 30,000 a week...By the end of the year, Shania's GH will reach sales of:

End of the Year Prediction: 3,665,708

That number could fluctuate depending on Shania doing more promotion, Shania finally getting a well-deserved #1 at country radio, or Shania winning at an Awards Show.

TOTAL ALBUM SALES SO FAR FOR GH: 2,925,708
GH Avg. Sales Per Week Thus Far: 132,986

But that's OK, remember how much promotion Shania was doing for Up! There has only been 1 promotional appearance for the past 3 monthes.

Some Estimations:

In 04 Weeks: The GH will surpass 3 Mill
In 29 Weeks: The GH will surpass 3.5 Mill

By Jan. 2006: The GH will surpass 3.75 Mill
By Summer 2006: The GH will surpass 4 Mill

Looks like she will sell more in March than February too, which is also great since there has been no promotion, very little media mentions, and we are farther away from "Party For Two' (remember Mercury said PFT was still selling records which why they held back D!)....

I am thinking that if Quitter comes out before May...it would push up the sales too...and possibly we'll have a higher curve...:BL 4 M in a year time sounds good to me overall...especially for a Greatest Hits.

That's better than good, even if it won't hit the 4m, can get to 3.5, and that would be very close to album's sales like Stripped, Beyonce's solo album, et cetera.
For a GH, running without Shania's personal promotion since last november-december it's very good.

I know 4 million is reasonable for the end of the year but I am guessing it will do 6 million with and if there is promo for "IANQ" & if Shania does not release anything else in between(like another album).


I mean so far 2 singles and near 3 million.....with "DON'T" hitting AC soon, it is sure to get 4 million. Now with 2 singles and one more to go, it can only go up from here!

I like your way of thinking...we should also build in the Holiday sales increase...Up! rebounded to sales of nearly 75K per week during the holidays! The GH could rebound higher if Shania chooses to promote. We'll see...;)
