Yep it does and sadly not much we can do. They can't say they will not play it more since it is not top 20 because they are playing others like Big and Rich and they are lower than "SHOES".

Really no excuse for KZLA, they even ignore their own listeners :(

well, I think it's time for Shania and her team to rethink her relation with country radio and the weight they are giving to it when building up promotion.

And we fans too.

What do you all expect when the charts are corrupted.

Jud may have something. I mean if she keeps getting trashed by Country radio and TV, etc., she & Mutt may re-access how she will do things in the future where her music is concerned. I think most of us would agree that for us, it doesn't matter. We are going to support her no matter what she does, but I hope she will keep attached to country even if she has to go elsewhere to boost her success.

Well, I don't suggest to leave country, but adjust to the new situation:

1. If anyone took a deeper look to the list above, would see that 3 of the biggets stations, WUSN, KZLA, WILL played the song less than 5 times per week !!!

2. Morover, after almost 5 weeks on the chart, 1/3 of the stations did not added the song yet, and from the 76 stations listed above more than half of them played it 5 or less times only during the scanned week.

- This kind of gain will take the song not far. It already slower than DOn't! was, and we know where it finished the charts....

As I see and understand the current situation, country radio doesn't want find place for Shania's songs, just as they did with Dolly and Reba back in the 90-es. Which shortens big time the longevity of her albums.
Any next release from her will have one shot probably with the lead single going maybe top 10, and the rest will die slowely, as her latest singles did.

Now the real question is, how can Shania achieve that her albums won't loose their longevity >> as lack of airplay and vidseoplay means lack of promotion and assuming that Shania won't promote personally every single. And even touring is questionable.

So they will have to find different ways to keep her songs and name in the public, while they will have no airplay on radio, and much more limited on the video side too.
Internet is giving some new opportunities, but it won't be enough....

I think I can agree and understand what you are saying, and I didn't mean she should leave country, but, if they continue to blackball her, then I don't know. Can she continue? Maybe, since Reba and Dolly have had some success in recent years, that is possible. But, you are right in that they will have to find ways to keep her songs and her name in the public's mind. There is always that possibility that from now on she is more interested in writing for other artists. She has said that not long ago. I hope though that she never totally gives up singing and recording. That would be a shame.

I don't even want to think about it. It's not on my solution possibilities to this situation....

Actually, to use a Beatles comparision, after having out some amazing albums and her Sergent Pepper, I am waiting/ready for her Abbey Road or White Album.

Well; I thought that the GH did well with just 1 top 10 and two flops at radio. Gretchen Wilson's "Here for the party" has MASSIVE airplay on radio yet, only sold 3.8 million. The GH is at 3.2 million and has been out for 5 months less than GW's.

How many times does it have to be mentioned Radio Play does NOT equal album sales these days??? Plus the whole payola thing.

It's not connected now to payola.

But as far as Shania considered, more radio plays brings in higher sales.
Other artists s a very different question. There are a lot where airplay ddoesn't give sales, but there are a couple where yes.
