We see a slight incline in sales this week. Which is good. As you can see, the GH is soooo close to re-entering the top 20. Keep putting the GH in front of GW's and Faith's on the rack in Walmart, Target, and the other stores!! BTW, the GH slides 22 to #173 this week on the top 200. There were a lot of debuts this week. There were 8 debuts in the top 20 alone.

So the BB chart #s for this week are:

SHOES: #32 > > #31
GH country: #22 > > #22
GH all genre: #151 > > #173

We really need SHOES to break the top 30. Once it does we will have major help from syndicated airplay. C'mon fans lets request hard this week.

I know we are all concerned recently that Shania isn't getting what she deserves in airtime, etc., but when you look at the sales for GH as compared to the other artistsshow above, you realize just how big a star she really is. What's even more impressive is that GH when compared to her previous albums is not as strong, although for a greatest hits album, it has done very well. :)

BTW,

The Greatest Hits has now sold 999,326 copies in 2005. It will break 1 million next week. Way to go fans!!

Considering that this is a 'Shania Twain' Greatest Hits package, you would think that the label would push it to sell more. I mean... ugh... the potential sales for this album is sooooo high!

well, they don't push anything Shania lately, but Sugarlland's album for 7.99$.

Hopefully, they will push the GH during the sweep-months. They can't be that stupid...or can they?

^^ Do you really think they would push a one year old album at this day and age?

A million for 2005 with still plenty of time to go is pretty nice. Yes, you would think there would be some promotion, like a special price for a period like say $7.99 or $8.99 for GH. Many artists CDs are promoted this way. I will say this, when you go to any of the music stores, Shania's music is rarely on sale, at least not bargain sale. The only exceptions I've seen are her first Shania Twain CD and the Limelight album, and quite often Limelight is regular priced.

Cool, thanks for all the info! Well if Mercury won't promote the GH during the sweeps months of November and December, maybe we can. We can place the cd in front of or next to others like we always do :D

makes you wonder what a LITTLE - IDDY - BIT - OF PROMOTION on Mercury/UMG's part would do
