I noticed Shania's Winterbreak Special will be shown on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 @ 8:00-9:00 p.m. on VH1.

I saw a promo on the People's Choice Awards wirh a flash of Shania in her pink outfit from the 2nd half of the Dallas Thanksgiving Special. Is there any significance to this? Is she nominated for anything? I haven't had time to look for anyone' recent comments, so I don't know.

Gotta go to the Mall today. See ya! http://www.shania-twain.org/messages/smile.gif

Yeah, Steve, Shania, Faith, & Britney are nominated for favorite female vocalist. Since Shania has been inactive for a year, just getting the nomination is pretty good! Have fun at the mall. (Don't get trampled!)

Thanks for the info tides24, I was asked just last night by a friend, who I might add is also a Shania fan, if Shania was up for any thing at the People's Choice Awards because she had seen Shania on the commercial for that Awards show. I didn't know, but I do now, so now I can let her know that yep Shania is up for the Favorite Female Vocalist. Now all I need to know is when that is on! Thanks too Steve F for that info of when Shania's Winterbreak Special is going to be on VH1!!!

Thanks Tides. I just haven't had time to research things like this while on vacation, so I really didn't know if she was nominated, or it was just a come on by the network.

Mary, glad I could help. I haven't seen this Special for a fairly long time, probably not for nearly a year. So, I'm looking forward to it. I've said this before, whenever I hear Elton John sing his hit version of "The Way You Look Tonight" on the radio or my CD, now it is always missing something without the wonderful harmony Shania provided on the Special with Elton. http://www.shania-twain.org/messages/smile.gif http://www.shania-twain.org/messages/smile.gif

I've got one more item on the WB Special. While visiting my parents last night, my mother said to me: "Have you ever seen Shania riding a snowmobile? I was channel surfing and I landed on that music channel you like and there was Shania riding up on a snowmobile and talking about doing a special. I thought she must be pretty strong for a girl to pull-start that snow machine all by herself." I said: "yeah Mom, how long did you watch it?" She said: "well she got on the snowmobile and seemed to ride right into Miami. So I watched one song. It was one of her old ones." I said: "you mean Man I Feel Like a Woman, don't you?" She said yes, and how pretty she looked out in the snow.

I agreed with my mother and realized she was right. Shania was about as gorgeous as a woman can be in a snowsuit opening that special. I mean she said it was -35F when she rode up. Holy cow, how do you ride up on a snowmobile say it is -35 and look like a Revlon Model. I came to this conclusion. This could only happen in Timmins and only Eilleen Regina Twain could pull it off.

Even though I detest cold & snow, which is funny because I live where we get our share, I think if Shania said Steve if you want my autograph be in Timmins when it's -35 and I'll give you one from my my sled, I might just be there! That's all I'm going to say on this for now. See you guys later! http://www.shania-twain.org/messages/cool.gif

On one of the other Shania sites, there was a post by someone who knew her when she lived in Canada, and used to play the local bars. Said she had a Skidoo snowmobile, and used to drive it really fast. Why am I not surprised! http://www.shania-twain.org/messages/smile.gif

I agree Shania looked fantastic in the opening of her WB special. I think she could make any outfit look good. http://www.shania-twain.org/messages/biggrin.gif http://www.shania-twain.org/messages/biggrin.gif

Now if you ever get that chance to get the autograph in -35F temperatures in Timmins be sure and take me with you. Its not safe to sled alone. I volunteer to brave the cold with you. LOL

Just curious about one thing. How could your mom stop watching after just one song??

Definitely Bryce, I will absolutely need help. I haven't ridden on a snowmobile for years, but this certainly would prompt me to do so. Yeah! Didn't she look cool, literally, on that sled!

My mother is not the fan we are. She loves to channel surf. It's her thing. If I had been there, I would have asked her to stop & watch. She is more of a Brad Paisley type. She also loves classical music.

I had to really restrain myself last night as WB was on again @ 10:00 p.m. I was watching the People's Choice Awards in bed with my wife and if I had switched back & forth, she probably would've whacked me.

For a moment, I really thought Shania had a chance as they played MIFLAW longer than they did Britney or Faith, and because they had been picking a lot of the 3rd nominees shown, but of course Miss McGraw won. I don't have any problem with that. She's had a great year and deserves it. Shania won a little victory of her own I think in that she has been null & void for a year and still gets nominated. How cool is that? This is not a jab, but I doubt Faith would get nominated after being on ice for a year. http://www.shania-twain.org/messages/cool.gif

While watching Shania Winter Break last nite I noticed for the first time the high number of cars driving by you can see in the back of the screen shot, behind the stage while Shania and the band are perfoming.. I have never been in Miami, but is that Coliseum downtown? Because it looked that way from the TV shots of the area, and from the height of the stage....just wondering what Shania was hearing with all those cars in the background..although probably not close..
