Cool pics. Back in 1979, I took the 6 hour ground school at the airport in Tecumseh, Michigan and subsequently made 3 jumps using the static line method, all from 3,500 feet. You jump with the static line attached to the aircraft and the static line immediately opens your chute. (Back then it was a round canopy chute.)

I tell you my heart was POUNDING at the moment of jumping. I never did proceed to further jumps from greater altitudes pulling my own ripcord to deploy the chute.

I did want to proceed further, but I married in 1980 and my new wife strictly forbade me from continuing. I have since remarried, but now in my old age, I find myself too scared to attempt such a thing! I also have a bad back these days anyways so I have to be careful with what I do. Nuts...

Your old wife was wise Eric. Plus, I have a bad back too and it takes very little to knock it out of whack. So I have to be careful what I do. Most of the time I do pretty good as I have learned to live with it and know what to "not" do after 46 years of dealing with it. So, as much as I think it might be fun, I would never try it.

Today, I have sad news. I have kept all the interviews for Shania's bio FTMO, Oprah, Ellen, The Talk, etc., along with all of "Why Not". I have been trying to figure out a way to keep these, but there is apparently no way to do this with Time Warner's DVR. Unfortunately, the box started to act up this week, and so with sad feelings, I got the new box [with no listings ] and the problem is fixed. But, Shania and all her glory have gone to that place where, I don't know, erased things go. Oh well at least my TV is working.

ps: Also our local Walmart has finally closed out Shania's perfume. There was still some on the shelf just a few months ago, but now alas, it no longer is.
