Mutt and Supercharge

This is not directly Shania related but I thought I'd share some interesting information on Mutt and a group he produced called Supercharge. Mutt produced three albums for Supercharge in the 1970s. Their is a site where you can read a few comments about the group from its founding member; www.superchargeonline.de/History.htm . The most interesting information at this site is that Mutt produced, wrote all the songs, and sang all the vocals (including lead) on the final album called Body Rhythm. I finally got at copy of the LP last week. The songs are as follows:

I Can See Right Thru You
Don't Stop
Taxi
We Both Believe In Love
Show Me How Real Your Love Is
Four To The Floor
I Think I'm Gonna Fall In Love

While the other two Supercharge albums are more funk/disco, this one is pop. The song "We Both Believe In Love" is the same song as the one Mutt gave to Huey Lewis with a few small changes. The main difference is that Mutt sings it. Mutt's singing on this is completely different than I expected. On some songs he sings like Barry Gibb (of the Bee Gees) or Prince; on others, I can not think of a good comparison. This album is much better than the other two Supercharge LPs, there is not a weak song on it. I sent the LP off to Dan Busch who is converting it to cd. It is very likely that Mutt played all the instruments on this one as well. If anyone has interest in these songs in cd or MP3 format, drop me an e-mail and I'll try to help.

If the link does not work, just type Supercharge and Body Rhythm in the search box or Supercharge and Mutt Lange. The match you want is Supercharge history. Hope that works.

Dave

Thanks Dave! That's pretty cool stuff...regarding Mutt using his voice in different ways, I think that's one of his main strengths..he knows how to use his voice and can change the way he sings depending on the song..you gotta be a master to do it!

I have the MP3 of "I Think I'm Gonna Fall In Love". The vocals are indescribable. You can certainly tell that he's singing the backing vocals because it's his signature sound! But if he is in fact singing the lead vocals as well, you'd never know! I'd love to find the album or the MP3s somewhere. I know Dave asked me if I had it a while back. I wish! That is a rare commodity!

But if anyone gets a chance to hear the album, do it! It's very unique.

Hey Dave, would you mind telling me where you got the album? I've searched everywhere and can't find it. That's how rare this thing is! You can e-mail me at rtc21498@aol.com. Thanks.
