Eurovision (Shania mention)

It's "Love" for Kiev
Donna & Joseph McCaul for Ireland!

The brother and sister act of Donna & Joseph McCaul have won the final of Ireland's "You're a Star" series with the song Love. They won the nation's televote this evening ahead of the all girl group Jade.

Having topped the poll on Saturday evening's programme, the McCauls went into tonight's final as the favourites to win. They had received very positive comments from judge Hazel Kaneswaran, who had said she would "collapse in a state of shock if it does not win!".

The duo won through from the Waterford auditions, where they had sung Amazing Grace. Donna, who is 20, had auditioned last year for "You're A Star" in Longford, sings in a band with Doc Carroll and also sings on her own. The brother and sister act would have auditioned together last year, but Joseph was too young. Donna and Joseph's parents are separated, and their mother raised six children on her own.

Donna's favourite song is From This Moment by Shania Twain and would love to either present a music award to Shania or do a duet with her, as she thinks she is a brilliant artist.

The song Love was composed by Karl Broderick. The McCauls will now go onto represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest semifinal on May 19th in Kiev.

spain televoting was last weekend and the winner where

SON DEL SOL (SOUND OF THE SUN) WITH THE SONG "BRUJERIA" (WITCHCRAFT) , EVERYBODY THINKS THAT SONG REMEMBERS THE HORRIBLE BUT SUCCESSFUL "ASEREJE".TAKE CARE EUROPEANS 'CAUSE THE NEW ASEREJE IS COMING.

I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY ALL THE MOST HORRIBLE SPANISH SONGS ARE THE MOST SUCCESFULL:

-BRUJERIA 2005 ?
-OBSESION 2004
-ASEREJE:2001
-MACARENA:1996

THE SONG THAT REACHED THE SECOND POSITION WAS "ERES UN ENFERMO" (YOU ARE SICK) AND WAS THE FAVOURITE SONG ON THE POLLS,PERFORMED BY LAS SUPREMAS DE MOSTOLES (THE SUPREMES OF MOSTOLES), MOSTOLES IS A VILLAGE FROM MADRID. AND HER SONG WAS SO FUNNY IT WAS LIKE A JOKE TALKING ABOUT CYBERSEX, THE COMPOSER OF THAT SONG WAS THE SAME THAT WROTE "ANTES MUERTA QUE SENCILLA" ANOTHER FUNNY SONG THAT WIN LAST YEAR EUROVISION JUNIOR AND THAT HAS BECOME A HIT IN SPAIN (3X PLATINUM)

take care that in eurovision songs are only 3 minutes and need to be so ritmic to be remembered after 25 songs, and spain always perfoms in spanish, never in english as some countries do.

It is nice to read that someone would like to present Shania with an award, or sing a duet with her. Very Refreshing!!

I was thinking as I was out doing errands this afternoon and listening to GH, why wouldn't you want to sing with this lady, and certainly presenting her with an award would be an event to remember for the rest of your life. There aren't many things that could be more memorable.

i was thinking about eurovision songs and you need to get the attention of millions of audience around europe in just 3 minutes and that your song must be remembered after 25 songs and shania's "up!" could be a perfect eurovision song cause it is so repetitive and has a great rhythm in less than 3 minutes.
