No surprises there, but the best part about living in Switzerland is that it's well known for foreign celebrities and she can lead a very normal life. It's Central to Europe and she can have hot chocolate all year round and snowy winters.

hmmm...
Ingvar Kamprad - as mentioned in the article - just recently visited Vaasa, Finland, the town I live in.
He plans to open a new store here.
I understood he needs some more money.

It makes you wonder what her parents would think about her now. She has gone from one end of the spectrum to the far end of the other, and yet she still lives her life more like the former than the latter. We know very little of her private life, but her family, siblings, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, etc., must be proud of her. If they aren't, that's their loss.

I'm not sure what her biological father, Clarence Edwards, makes of all her success, as she briefly met him once when she was a teenager and has had no contact since. As for all her siblings, they are especially proud. Her mum and dad would have enjoyed the luxuries as Shania would have made sure they wouldn't have to financially struggle anymore, had they survived. They sacraficied so much to get her where she is and her mother was the biggest supporter of her music that gave her the driving force. If it wasn't for her, she would have remained a 'closet singer'.

I definitely agree with that, Steve and I don't even know her personally, but I am so proud of her and how she lives her life! She is an inspiration to a whole lot of people, including me!!!!

I have wondered once or twice how Clarence Edwards feels about how she turned out. Is he sincerely proud of her, or is he only after monetary benefits? Only he knows that.
Well, we do know this. Eilleen's mom would never be pumping gas again if she were still here.
I think she would be very generous to both of her parents now. We know she thought the world of Jerry, but I also think she would try to give her mom all those things she missed while trotting little Ellie to this club and the next one. Mothers and daughters are like that. I speak from experience
