Yes you will see a lot of History around Houston and San Antonio as that is where the Texas rebels first met General Santa Anna and his overwhelming army of thousands and many cannon. I believe the rebels in the Alamo barely had 200 men defending and not altogether that many cannon. But they managed to fend off the Mexican army under Santa Anna for almost a week which gave General Sam Houston enough time to gather an army together to defeat General Santa Anna around the Houston area.
It was sad when the Texas General at Goliad who had a much larger force surrendered to General Santa Anna without firing a shot.
The biggest mistake General Santa Anna made was in dividing up his forces, thinking that he would never be attacked by Texas Rebels.
