Shania Twain's Up! Album Stays at #4

I believe this article speaks for itself...But I am glad to see that Shania Twain's Up! Album is still in the #4 slot even after Shania Twain stopped touring for a while...

Josh Turner Scores His First Top 10 Album
Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney Still Holding the Top Chart Positions

By: Calvin Gilbert

The new chart year begins with the usual suspects firmly ensconced in the upper reaches of Billboard's country charts. However, newcomer Josh Turner saw a strong sales spike for his debut album, Long Black Train, which jumps into the Top 10 from No. 17.

Toby Keith's Shock'n Y'all and Alan Jackson's Greatest Hits Volume II and Some Other Stuff continue in the first and second positions on the albums chart. Martina McBride's Martina moves up two notches to No. 3, Shania Twain's Up! stays at No. 4 and the Dixie Chicks' Top of the World Tour Live falls two slots to No. 5. Keith's Unleashed and LeAnn Rimes' Greatest Hits hold steady at the sixth and seventh spots while Turner's album moves to No. 8. Rascal Flatts' Melt slips one level to No. 9. Brooks & Dunn's Red Dirt Road returns to round out the Top 10.

There's no movement in the first three positions of the country singles chart: Chesney's "There Goes My Life," followed by Jackson's "Remember When" and Brooks & Dunn's "You Can't Take the Honky Tonk Out of the Girl." Keith's "I Love This Bar" moves up one slot to No. 4, and Terri Clark's "I Wanna Do It All" edges up a slot to No. 5. Rodney Atkins' "Honesty (Write Me a List)" slips to No. 6, Tracy Byrd's "Drinkin' Bone" remains at No. 7 and Keith's "American Soldier" jumps from No. 12 to No. 8. Tim McGraw's "Watch the Wind Blow By" drops to No. 9 while Brad Paisley's "Little Moments" moves into the Top 10.

Two tracks from George Strait's latest album, Honkytonkville debuted on the country singles chart -- "Honk if You Honky Tonk" (No. 51) and "Desperately" (No. 56). Strait's record label will be spending the coming weeks aggressively promoting "Desperately."

Other singles debuting this week include Reba McEntire's "Somebody," arriving at No. 55. After a noticeable absence from the charts, David Lee Murphy returns on a new record label with "Loco" (at No. 59). Cross Canadian Ragweed appear at No. 60 with "Constantly."

With major labels offering their latest releases prior to the holiday shopping rush, no new albums showed up on this week's albums chart.
